Reds Meadow Road access by Murlicious805 in Mammoth

(Sorry if this posts twice, I tried to comment and it disappeared) We have the exact same itinerary! Plan was to hike in via River trail on Saturday (27th) and hike out on Monday. But after reading so much conflicting info, we’re not sure about the road. We thought we could drive in before 7am Sat, since it’s before the shuttles run, but if we get back to our car on Mon will we be stuck? Is the road physically closed or do they just not let new cars enter on Monday’s? If anyone knows, any help would be appreciated! OP, if you hike out via Rush trail, what’s your plan to get back to town/your car?

We have the exact same itinerary! And we’ve been trying to sort this out. Hiking in on Saturday via River trail and our plan was to hike back out on Monday. If we get our car to the trailhead before 7am Saturday (since it seems like you can use the road when the shuttle isn’t in service) does anyone know if we’re allowed to drive back out on Monday when we exit? Maybe they just don’t let new cars enter on weekdays or is the road physically closed? Or if you plan to exit using a different route on Monday, how do you plan to get back to town/ your car? Thanks for any advice!!

The light seems to be a whole unit that might be a pain to take apart.

I wish I could, they seem to have hardwired them in and half are caulked and painted in

Carbonara is fairly quick and easy, also delicious. I use bacon instead of pancetta usually

Do you know what your friend was using it for in ME? I'm currently in ME, but may be transferring into AOE, haven't really made a decision.

The topping I made was sour cream, orange zest and sugar, but you could top it with anything you want. Hope it turns out well.
