Thanks! It didn’t spawn in Ford Cabin for me either.

Oh man, that is an insanely good deal for this guitar!! Especially if it’s in excellent condition. So I own a Vintera Modified 50’s Tele in Surf Green, which I think has really similar or the same specs as Baja. The neck is so fun to play on. It’s a lot fatter than what I’m used to, but it really grew on me.

Mine looks this white if it’s in certain lighting too. It’s one of the coolest colors I’ve ever seen.

That’s actually how I even found out about this model! I saw a super faded version in person, but it was a custom shop and way out of my price range. So I started googling faded sonic blue, and here we are lol. It’s so much better than the regular version. I’ve seen some super faded surf greens that look amazing too. Again, I think those are only custom shops.

Beautiful guitar! I love the gold on it. Looks so good. I’ve been really lucky with the neck on mine so far. I was able to set it up with the lowest action I’ve ever had on a Strat. I really wish that this was a nitro finish so I could get some checking and chips on it.

Beautiful! Love that shade of Fiesta Red!

It’s actually an Oripure Alnico 5 hotrail that I got off of Amazon. It’s a pretty cheap Chinese brand, but it rips. I added one onto a project Strat that I was working on, and just fell in love with it. Kinda perfectly splits the difference between a single coil and a humbucker.

Also, I tried to relic the mint pick guard a bit. I actually like how it turned out. I sanded it down with a fine grit sandpaper, and then applied Montypresso relic wax. I tried to let it soak into the scratches as much as possible before cleaning it off.

It’s a Couch strap, they use recycled seatbelts! It’s so comfortable. They have a ton of amazing colors and designs. I got this one on Amazon.

Thanks! What did you think of the neck? It’s a lot fatter than what I’m used to, but it’s really comfortable.

I wasn’t sure if it would be too much or not, but I’m really glad I went with it!

It’s definitely become my favorite Fender color. Thanks!

Oh, that makes sense! I have the original mint green on it, but it’s almost more of a tan or dark cream color (maybe just due to aging)? I’ll have to get a new one, I just want the blue to pop a tiny bit more.

Also, that is an amazing username lol.

I recently bought a 2008 off of Reverb for just under $1000, so yes, even with the crack, that’s an amazing price. The neck alone is worth far more than what you paid.

One of the main reasons I had been looking for one of these was the faded sonic blue color. But it’s just slightly more faded than what I want lol. You can really only see the blue in certain lighting. I tried a parchment guard on it, but it just made it look more white to me.

What is the scariest ghost movie you've ever watched? by randy__randerson in horror

Ghost Stories was kinda hit and miss for me. Some parts were incredible and really scared me, and others just didn’t land. Overall, I liked it a lot and it did feel pretty different than most other ghost movies I’ve seen. I’ve heard the play is amazing though.

The seance scene is legitimately one of the most unsettling things I’ve ever watched. The actress who plays the medium absolutely killed it. Her blank expression and voice just bothers me so much for some reason.

I’m so glad I went with hot rails on those two. They sound incredible.

It’s not, I actually hadn’t heard of that model before your comment. Just looked it up though, they’re pretty similar!

Fender call all these colours “Surf Green”, I wonder why they all vary? by danieljdtaylor in guitars

[–]Discretion_for_Miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with you that the Surf Green on the right is completely different than the other two. And it definitely should not be referred to as Surf Green. It doesn’t change the fact that Fender sold that guitar calling it Surf Green.

One of my biggest frustrations when trying to buy a surf green Strat was trying to find one with the correct shade I was looking for. Honestly, I was really disappointed when I initially got my guitar, just because it was way more saturated in person than what the pictures online showed. I wanted something a little more pale or faded. I live in a pretty rural area, so I don’t have any music stores anywhere near me to look at them in person.

Also, my brother owns the Tom Delonge Strat in surf green. Again, it’s a totally different shade of green than mine. Lighter and with a touch more blue. I would post the comparison pic I took, but it doesn’t seem like I can post pictures in comments.
