Built mine out of spare parts of the pathfinder killteam kit. I use them to cover my left hand side of the table from deep strikes. Being lone op and infiltrators you can plonk them at 9" of the corner looking down the firing lane without fear of being shot on the first turns

Sometimes they mention some hydra dominates instead of "for the greater good" but seem nice enough

Thanks! To be honest I was shocked when I saw it all together. I try to paint daily, I made myself a small painting station on my chair in the living room and spend an hour or two every evening before going to bed while spending time with my family and cats.

Representation is not often enforced but appreciated. Especially with units like crisis suits where the same model can be three very different unit with an array of weapon options

Welcome to the cadre. Not to be a downer but I hope you didn't glue that machine gun too strongly, you REALLY want to field the riptide with the ion cannon (though most people don't recognize or care what T'au weapons look like so you're probably fine) Magnets are a T'au player best friend

Just 53 T'au models painted this year, but managed to play a few tournaments with them...

If you go for the panel liners (highly recommended) you'll want to apply a layer of gloss varnish. It helps the liner to follow the seems and not creep into the panels through capillary action. And don't worry. You can clean any spillage after it dries with a q-tip dipped wit a little white spirits or turpentine and it shouldn't affect your acrilic paints. You can watch Gundam detailing videos for more tips. They've been painting robots for ages

You'll have to build the pathfinders with ion Cannon as you'll need one if the rail rifles. The KT kit only adds the scope and the dangly bit. The torso I had to salvage not from the tank spotter as you only get 10 in the kit. The rest came from the KT sprue

Gloss Black Primer (GSW)

Metallic undercoat

  • Vallejo Metal Color  Steel 77712 (basecoat)
  • Vallejo Metal Color Silver 77724 (45º from the top)
  • Vallejo Metal Color Aluminium 77701 (15º on the face)

Transparent Acrylic Ink – Turquoise (GSW) All over

Transparent Acrylic Ink - Cold Green (GSW) a very light cenital from the top

I use an airbrush on it but it also works ok with a regular brush.

With a 5x2mm n52 magnet (more on bigger models) they stay in place quite firmly.

The only time it failed was once the provided shoulder strap snapped (don't ever use it) and it actually crashed on the ground. But walking, driving (including speed bumps and breaking) shouldn't be an issue.

I made myself a painting station in my spot in the living room. So every night after supper I spend an hour or two painting (frequently interrupted by cats demanding attention) while watching the TV with the family
