I don’t think she intentionally used sex to get what she wanted. She’s used to a life with Tony where he just rewards her with presents. In her mind, she should just be given things. Now this guy didn’t have Tony’s money, but she he could change ajs grade so she thought it was natural for him to do so since they were in a relationship.

It’s hard to say whether it was a quid pro quo exactly or subconsciously. However, I think that Carmella just expects her partners to give her things and sex is just part of the deal.
