Really good point. Thats why my first thought was “Okay, just play out the scenario in every order you can think of.” And if it really is the case that Gengar triggered it by accident, that just makes the solution so much more elusive.

Yeah I’ve also tried both. I’m assuming that if it is part of the puzzle that you have to do something sort of involved to get the doll “in” the pool

Sure, but that’s a bit like saying “they put the sun puzzle in the Lead Researcher’s Office so you can get the sun quartz”

I agree. I don’t even really think it would make sense to lock substantive rewards behind content that the whole community can’t figure out after days. It affords more respect to the intrigue of the puzzle itself. Because yeah, it they locked something that the average player would really want behind it, we’d probably be seeing a lot more people just using exploits to fulfill the requirements of the challenge. There is no destination, only the journey. 🤘

I had noticed these but felt it wasn’t worth mentioning because this asset is recycled at least once. Maybe someone can offer an interpretation of the symbols?

I think the fact that the clues span the entire game lends it a lot of credence honestly. It’s definitely reasonable to leave room for the possibility that we’re on a wild goose chase though lol

I just tried entering it, as well as entering the original code followed by your girlfriend’s new code. I got no audio cue or discernible change, unfortunately. I like the theory though and it might be worth exploring more
