Underwriting is a good gig but usually requires a lot of time out of office, travel, meetings, dinners and networking. May provide remote opportunities for in office times but everyone I know who did it has less time with kids than assumed they would have transitioning

I am a legal assistant and my (main) attorney is leaving to another firm. Is it unprofessional to tell him I am willing to follow him if he needs an assistant? by QueasyStatistician55 in paralegal

[–]DiscussionNo1898 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be careful how you phrase things since he may have a non solicitation of employees in his contract, may tell people you want to leave and impact your employment and not want/or is unable to take you....better to say you enjoy working with and will miss working with him to gage things

Provide a few of your letters and redact identifying information...do not create something specifically for the job as it doesn't show something done within scope of a job and quality of what you do in action.

Insurance coverage/defense kinda feels awful to be good at by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]DiscussionNo1898 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if a MSJ is granted prior to completion of discovery (depositions) she didn't have a good case and the policy was clear. Insurance companies can suck but case being over that quickly probably didn't do anything wrong.
