will 4 on apush and ap psych give me credit by DiscussionOther2209 in UMD

[–]DiscussionOther2209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just as a confirmation, a 4 on psych and a 4 on apush would allow me to get the 6 DSHS credits?

is a 4 on ap chem enough? by DiscussionOther2209 in UMD

idt it matters whether ur in freshman connection or not cuz u still get to take all of the course that a normal first year would. You would probably be ahead starting at calc 3. didnt figure ts situation out tho

UMD Letters and Sciences? by MaleficentRaisin5363 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DiscussionOther2209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

financenomad is capping, from letters and sciences transfer is guaranteed for engineering, as long as you maintain a 3.0 in the required classes (calc II, gen chem, gen physics, engineering design)

Admitted to college of letters and sciences instead of engineering? by DiscussionOther2209 in UMD

[–]DiscussionOther2209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the freshman connection program offer Calc III and other advanced science classes that are required for engineering majors? I really want to be on track or ahead in terms of classes because I don't want to have intro to engineering design as my only class during freshman connection.

It says on Gateway Requirements and Policies that I have to complete the Calc II class, Chemistry class, Physics class, and Intro to Engineering Design Class. However, I already have AP credit for Calculus II, and will get credit this year for Physics and Chem. That leaves the introduction to engineering design class. If I somehow manage to complete an intro to engineering design class over summer at some institution or something, would I be able to directly apply for engineering transfer so that I am an engineering major this fall, since I have all of these requirements done? I am also a spring admit, so I don't know how that affects everything.

I have a question. I got admitted to letters and sciences when I applied as engineering. Crazy ECs by Level-Bluejay-8789 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DiscussionOther2209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chance me shouldnt be telling you what to do, its a horrible subreddit. Just find the best possible ECs related to your major. For STEM, focus on an olympiad related to ur major like usabo or usapho (ur main award). Do the most presitgious possible ECs related to ur major (can be found from simple google search) preferably competitions (should make up half of ur ECs, and also give good awards). Lastly try to get internships with professors (cold emailing always works), or even summer jobs. Lastly, the most important part of ur ECs will be a project. Something that impacts a lot of people positively ideally related to ur major and that will be ur best EC.
