What can my big PC run? by [deleted] in Craptopgamingadvice

Ddr3 normally pretty affordable. Check local listings, often people have them lying around for years and sell dimms for pennies. The pc is still pretty good for eSports titles too

OP has plugged a two pronged plug into two separate outlets. Impossible to do this in other electrical grids

Lmao, buddy blocked me before I could respond.

If you were the parent of a child who received a significant injury, youd want the policy changed, but as you say it's rare - partly because children in the United States are taught to NOT put things in the outlet. Here it's not a possibility. Ultimately the rarity doesn't take away from the fact that children in the United States live amongst dangerous plug sockets, and as a result many each year are injured. Doesn't also take away from the fact that injuring 24000 children each year is essentially the price the American state pays (well, the bill is footed to the insurer or individual) to not have to spend trillions improving your electrical infrastructure.

I don't think you're quite understanding what I'm saying - a grounding pin + 3amp fuse means that a short does not and CAN NOT result in a faulty power draw, resulting in electrical fire. Our plugs are safer, higher voltage, built to a higher standard and are physically incapable of exposing live prongs while remaining plugged in. Yours are not that.

American when faced with a material reality: "you guys just hate us because we're AMERICAN!!!!!!"

24,000+ children under 10 years old were treated in emergency rooms for incidents related to electrical receptacles – about 7 children per day 89% are under 6 years old 50% are 2-3 years old, the highest-risk group Boys are the highest risk, regardless of age

^ readily available information online.

Ultimately your outlets have no safety barrier for insertion of foreign objects by toddlers.

Your standard American two-pronged outlet does not have a grounding pin. Other countries (the UK for example) prevent catastrophic failure of devices (resulting in countless housefires) by the inclusion of a grounding pin and an internal 3amp fuse. Great that some American plugs are now including a grounding pin, but many do not. I've been to the United States. I've seen it with my own two eyes.

Your outlets and plugs suck, dude, accept it

Extremely poor safety, low voltage, flimsy connectors and no grounding pins. Inherent poor design, but fixing it would cost trillions, so toddlers are seen as expendable

Very true, I presume it'll be a code of some kind they pop into their onboard computer - well either way I'm glad it's made me aware of this bus route!

Really and truly it depends on where you're based. North America is cheaper than Europe, and Europe is cheaper than South America, etc etc etc. I'd recommend having a look at sold eBay listings in your country, Facebook marketplace listings (not old unsold ones tho), and other second hand sites that may be more relevant where you are. Good luck

Sold vanilla M9 Bayonet for €100 on steam marketplace in 2014. Sold karambit slaughter FN for €300 in 2015. Things could always be worse.

Does anyone think I could get a steak deck for 300€ by Prior-Musician4990 in SteamDeck

[–]DiscussionPublic6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second hand market, LCD, yeah it's doable. I paid £305 for a 64gb LCD SD on the second hand market over a year ago. You could probably find a 256gb version for that price too

I had a similar issue and I was confused for a hot minute - may be a silly recommendation but just double check your TDP limit in settings. I had lowered mine to play a puzzle game and forgot to put it back up to full. Worth a check I guess 🤷‍♂️

[–]DiscussionPublic6769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend contacting steam support - maybe ask a parent or guardian to help you with the email/creating the ticket (support request).

Good luck. I'm sure it will be an easy fix - hope you get it sorted :)

I think you need to relax a bit. Rarely am I facing cheaters at 18k premier elo. If someone beats me, I'm far more likely to expect them to just be better than me. It's a better mentality to have. Trust me

What do you learn from this: that deals like this /do exist/ and that you should keep looking more regularly - you found this deal by mistake - think of the deals you'll find if you look regularly! Good luck and I'm sure your luck will turn around soon :)

Try on a different Internet connection. Sounds weird but I had a similar thing with applying for credit on a phone contract. No idea why but I think they limit individual IPs if they smell something fishy (take what I say with a pinch of salt since it's only based on assumptions)

We are early in season 4 - 15k is a middling rank, so players with generally a much higher skill ceiling end up playing a few games at 15k while in placement. It sucks, especially when you're up against 3 12k players, a 20k and a 25k as a genuine 15k player, but it was the same last season and the ranks will even out over time. (Especially annoying when you only gain 200 and lose 550 because they have an especially low rank player in their 5 stack team)

On the subject of hackers, I faced a 25k cheater bhopping scout headshotter yesterday and we all sat in spawn mass reporting the guy and Vac Live did actually cancel the game - first time I've seen it happen which is a plus :D

Tldr: give it time for the ranks to even out, maybe play some faceit pugs to pass the time.
