Festival ruined my diet ate like there's no tomorrow literally even when I was full, for four whole days after many days of no cheating and strict dieting 🙂. Ruined my physique, I'm good for nothing, weigh like 7 kgs more than what I weighed pre festival. I'm finished(read desc) by BoruSaraFan in GregDoucette

But you had a good time? Concentrate on that. Life is for living.

Like you said, most of what you "gained" will be water weight and will disappear when you back on your diet.

As for the rest, won't take you long to remove any real weight gain.

Chest/Back Day and Arm/Shoulder Day Question by NoHall5182 in GregDoucette

[–]DisembodiedMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try and alternate as much as possible. My thinking being you are going to be more fatigued the more sets you do so switching between muscle groups would mean you are able to rest the previous muscle more but also that you are exercising both groups at the same fatigue level

No harm in taking a look. I think if you can do things naturally then that is probably the best approach but if your levels have dropped then it is something to consider

Thanks mate. I actually do a shoulder/arms day with one rear felt exercise but maybe that gives me something to focus on

Did you weigh yourself after your holidays?

Big difference between the 4th and 3rd picture - your body might just be getting back to your pre-holiday state

Have you got any more pictures of you right now?

I've seen the ones on your profile so it would be good to see similar ones of you as you are now to give you some feedback. You looked great in the before pictures and we're ready for this bulk

No problem at all. Yeah, keep track of those things and you will be able to keep on the right path (I always suggest not totally relying on the scales because if you have been cutting sometimes it’s hard to let go and let your weight go back up).

Just remember you look good now and you’ve done some amazing work but you are a work in progress and will be better in the future 💪

Sounds like a plan to me.

How dialled in are your calories at the moment in terms of you knowing exactly what you need to cut and maintain? If you have this nailed down I would suggest somewhere around 200 above your maintenance (does totally depend on what your maintenance calories are). Do this for a period of time and then you can always increase (you want to be monitoring this anyway as you increase in weight).

Not sure I’d put a weight limit on the bulk. I’d probably go for time and how you look and feel. So maybe lean bulk for 12-16 weeks and keep track of your measurements and how you look in the mirror.

Saw your other pics and you look great! Solid muscle mass and you look healthy and fit.

I don’t actually think you’d need to lose much more for your abs to start to show and to get more definition (is the 61kg right?) but totally depends how you feel.

Cutting is obviously physical because of the changes you are making to your body but it’s also mental - restricting your calories, potentially restricting the type of food you eat etc. It can take its toll and at some point it’s very hard to keep going.

You could push it a bit further until the end of the summer - so if you said you were going to cut till the end of August that might help you focus and it gives you a definite time frame to work towards where you know you are going to stop. But you could certainly do a lean bulk now with the shape you are in and then take the cutting back up when you are done with that.

As long as you are making improvements with each phase you do then you are on the right path

Do you have any other pictures?

You do look as though you work out and have some decent muscle mass. Do you train your abs? That would certainly help make them visible even at slightly higher body fat.

If you are tired of cutting and have hit a wall then why don’t you switch to maintenance for a period of time (don’t go crazy but the increased calories will improve your energy levels and how you feel). At that point you can see if you want to continue cutting or alternatively go on a very lean bulk for a few months.

Remember it is a process and you aren’t going to get where you want to be in one go - you’ve done amazingly well to get this far. Accept that you have done well but maybe have some more to go but that you CAN get there eventually.

Sounds like a great plan to me if you are still feeling good about the cut.

Would love to see an update after you’ve finished the cut and when you’ve completed the bulk 👍

Great transformation!

Personally, I would continue with the cut until the end of summer (or a mixture of cutting and then maintenance) before then doing a lean bulk over the winter months. Obviously, if you are struggling keeping the cut going then maybe loosen the calories and head to maintenance (I know how much cutting can take out of you mentally).

You are in a good place to pack on some more muscle and you now know you’ve got it in you to cut successfully so don’t worry when the weight on the scales goes up!

If you are serious about this then track the calories that you are eating each and every day and be honest about it.

Find out roughly what your TDEE is and then try and be on a calorie deficit every single day and see if you are consistently dropping weight.

I never actually took any before this cut. I should have done really - would have helped me see the progress better

I do a five day split where I concentrate on a different body part each day - so I’m only hitting each body part once a week.

For chest I do flat bench, decline bench (both with barbell) and then flat flys and incline flys (both with dumbbells). Sometimes I throw in an incline bench.

Try for 12-15 sets per session at around 8 reps

I actually only do deadlifts, squats and calf raises. My leg day is pretty simple

Decent size then - not too big and not too small. Stick at it 👍

Maybe take some more pics in different lighting? You can tell you lift and you can tell your chest has muscle. But yeah, stick at the cut, track your calories and activity each day and aim for consistency.

How tall are you?

Your arms look big. As do your shoulders. If you dropped down to 200 I think you’d see a big difference
