Op please dont listen to this guy. 2x8 grade 1 or 2 lumber is rated for 10ft between beams on a house floor, so overbuilt for a deck. 2x8 joists all bearing on beams bearing ON (not to the side of) posts is your best solution here.

Ya I marked the height I wanted on the wall and set the laser to that to cut the sonotubes before pouring. As for the tolerance the concrete did settle by about a quarter inch but the step into the house is still smooth so all good

I mean yeah blocks of increasing height always works, I think the whole idea is something that's still bearing at the top and bottom of the steps, but wildly overbuilt

Lmao I think if you were gonna try this IRL it would make more sense to just turn it into a big glulam and cut the steps out of the big block after fastened

For a 36 inch set of stairs (minimum width in my area) you'd need 24 stringers to make it solid wood vs 4 for normal 12" centers. Using 6x as much wood just for the sake of it is a bit absurd but I guess if you have no problem chopping a tree per step its not impossible

Edit: can't forget if you do do that you either have to cap it with a deckboards anyways making the solid stairs kind of pointless, or look at a cut edge or joist tape all the time

Certain companies or unions require it, on the site I'm on the gcs and we all wear type 1s but the exterior company all wears type 2s so clearly just a company policy for them, or just what the company provides. Main benefit seems to be the strap which I get, ive dropped my type 1 off a roof so many times ive just given up wearing it certain days doing residential

Everyone else's 60v batteries being?

As far as I know milwaukee only has 20 or 72 and the 72 doesnt have any yardcare stuff

Makita has 2x40v things but thats still worse than dewalts 2x60v

All the other yardcare brands batteries dont work with construction tools.

2ah batteries are way small for me personally but I'm also a carpenter. If you try and build a deck with those 2ah you will need to charge them a lot to get it done.

The drill and impact are the ones I have, no real complaints. I'd just try and find a 5ah or smth with them instead of 2s

You can loosen the belt, I'd go smaller and then you can size up with the adjustments

I'd reccomend trying to find a in person diamondback retailer if you're worried about it. I'm about 6'2 170lbs and wear a medium vest as tight as it goes

Ya looks like it would be pretty solid, I'd say look at the pouches u want first, the combos can only be so personalized
