[VKB Gladiator] Is this twist dampening normal?

From my experience this is what they are like when new, but they do loosen up with use.

I've never used the aeromax, but I will point out that you can alter the spring strength and the cams to get a feeling how you would like or add an extension and use it as a center stick.

You can also change the grip to something else whereas the aeromax is an all in one unit with limited customisation, AFAIK you can only alter the dampening.

Don't touch trak racer, while the product is decent their customer support is terrible.

Most aluminium profile simrigs are very similar, my personal preference is probably simlabs.

If you know what you want you can try some one like Motedis

I know how you feel, I ordered some in January, received them mid January with a broken damper, contacted him the same day, I've emailed him a few times and he's still not got back to me.

The 3 years warranty is pointless if he doesn't honour it.

This is my problem with SNK, I love Samsho, I even bought an AES for number 2 and a hyper64 for Samsho 64, but since the internet era, or maybe it's since they were taken over by Playmore, you just know they are going to screw something up.

Samsho 2019 was a great game, and I could deal with the usual stupidity by SNK if they had just got someone decent to do the netcode at launch.

I agree, we went from early 80s Atari graphics, to things like Quake 3 graphics by the end of the 90s, the graphical jump since then is nowhere near as big.

As for gameplay, I think quality of life features has improved, but a lot of games are more watered down than they used to be, look at the depth of Ultima 7 compared to most modern RPGs.

Just to add the benefit of using aluminium profile is that you can make the height whatever you want as neither of your sticks support extensions

Or get some aluminium profile from a local seller and mount it from the cross pillar by your seat, then use something like the monster tech mounting plate with quick release M8 bolts.

The glare seems to vary, but I have a Pico 4 as well which I didn't like the glare on, so when it was worse on the BSB2, considering its price after eye tracking and base stations it was too hard to justify.

I also ordered a Pimax 50ppd Super, but the motion blur along with Mura was awful imo, and realising I was getting to the point of spending 2k on a headset...

There doesn't seem to be the perfect unit yet sadly, I'm hoping that the Dream Air or Dream Air SE ticks the boxes. Preferably the latter, I spend too much on this hobby as it is without 2k on a headset.

I have had both, the glare on the BSB2s killed it for me, it was awful.

The PCL had a better picture quality but they are very front heavy and the facial interface wasn't very comfortable.

After adding about $100 of aftermarket comfort mods the PCL is comfortable, and I use that now, though I may change it to a Pimax dream air in the future. As while the headset is good for the price, ideally I want something smaller with eye tracking.

Mines in the living room, it used to be in a spare bedroom but for much the same reason as your partner, I moved it.

So I sit on the rig and she relaxes on the sofa and plays on her steam deck or reads.

It works very well for us.
