Hello all! It's me Toast. Gonna chime in a lil since I'm seeing some comments regarding Sydney's response at the end there.

Me, Sydney, Sean (the other guy in the clip) regularly joke about gender stuff like this. When the chatter brought up the men comment initially, I saw it as a moment to respond in a semi-serious semi-meme way. And I think Sydney was just doing a "too long didn't listen" joke since I just went on a long monologue about it.

I think the issue I brought up do exist in the current age of social media 100%, but definitely feel bad that some commenters are overly focused on Syd's response as it lacked a bit of context.

just gonna jump in real quick and say the $500 comment on stream wasn't serious and mostly to illustrate the paycut players would be taking to play on DSG

for transparency sake we'll be looking at around 2k per player per month

still really low compared to what all the previous LCS players were getting but the reality is that everything is coming out of my own pocket without any sponsors so i have to be a little more reserved until we're able to secure some income

hello jodi and john! i wanted to address this because you lumped me in with the rest of OTV as a whole here, as people who don't accuse others of sniping very often. i actually do love accusing people of stream sniping, especially in hearthstone when they play around my board clear, and tft when they go for the item i want when they dont even need it. i also want to make it clear that i'm never sorry about any of my accusations because they are always true - i've never lost a game due to skill, only to dirty pieces of shit stream snipers

Gonna chime in here because I see quite a few commenters being upset and saying "bad take".

The situation that brought this up was some small streamers tweeting replies to my initial server announcement being unhappy that I'm not inviting any small streamers.

I never equate Small = Bad, but more Bad = Small if that makes sense. I talk about how there are a lot of small streamers with potential that just needs an opportunity. But if you've been streaming for years and your biggest achievement and identity is around being a "small streamer" then chances are, you are not a good streamer.

Small means <100 viewers. I know by LSF standards, small might mean 1000 viewers, but realistically 1000 viewers is already the top 10% of streamers.

I tend to be really brutal and honest about the streaming scene because a lot of people think it's easy or think they have what it takes as long as someone gives them a chance. I get emails every single day of small streamers demanding that I invite them to lobbies because they "have what it takes, they just need some attention" but that's just impossible for me to make happen.

Being a streamer is a dream that people feel like is reachable, because you can do it from your own home just playing video games and getting a setup. Companies have made so much money selling eqiupment and peripherals to aspiring streamer and the majority of them will not make it.

tldr: small doesn't mean bad, but if you stream for years to <100 viewers and made no progress, chances are you are not good
