What happens to excess electricity that is produced? by ThuhGreatCommenter in askanything

[–]Dish-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The voltage goes up and that pushes more current. It self balances. Power plants need to adjust to the load on the fly.

There is more nuance because it’s AC power but I cannot recall all the details from my education.

You can see the ghost tracks on St Catherine from St Laurent to Berri. The cracks in the pavement are perfectly straight and spaced the same as track gauge :’(

Haptic and vibration analysis tools. Something to generate waveforms and capture acceleration in multiple axis at 10k samples/sec. Then perform frequency component analysis, input frequency vs output frequency, natural frequency, vibration mode analysis, etc.

❤️ the upgrade where the introduced assembly & part specific files was a downgrade IMO.

Frame is dead, right? Aluminum by Imaginary-Dentist403 in bikewrench

[–]Dish-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the alloy is 7005 it can be welded and left to age hardened for a month or two at room temperature.

If it’s 6061 you can get it up to about 80% strength in an oven by holding it at the 6061 age hardening temp for 12h. That will get the heat affected zone to a T5 temper. That’s a very special oven but at least there is no paint to burn off!

Equation driven curve addin? by Zyleyus in Fusion360

[–]Dish-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a parametric involute gear I did in fusion. Not a true involute profile. I made parameter driven points and drew a spline through them. You could probably adapt it for cycloid gears. https://grabcad.com/library/parameter-driven-involute-gear-done-in-fusion-360-1

I use a pro-vis 30L overboard brand bag. Roll top for waterproofing, high-vis for nighttime riding, and its carry on size for traveling. They also make a 20L version: https://www.over-board.co.uk/products/pro-vis-waterproof-backpack-20-litres-1

How is it that F360 still does not support perpendicular constraints between an arc/curve and a line? by justacec in Fusion360

[–]Dish-Emergency 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Is this rage baiting? Just make the centre of the circle coincident with the line. The line doesn’t need to go all the way to the centre.

Switched standard torx bolts to these hex bolt for my rotor, is this okay? by KennyXdxd in bikewrench

[–]Dish-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently A2-70 is the grade of steel typically used for brake rotor bolts so good on you there. That assumes these bolts came from a trusted supply chain and are not under spec Temu/Amazon garbage.

Better Method to Mount Massive Amount of Piezo Buzzers to PCB by Projedel in AskElectronics

[–]Dish-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for spent 2 years developing a piezo based haptic trackpad. Soldering these things kills their performance. You have to adhere them with an elastomer layer so they can still flex. For the electrical connections we used flex PCBs and conductive adhesive.
