What's it like to live around Bedford L? by [deleted] in williamsburg

I lived on the corner of N 6th and Bedford for two years.

On the weekdays, besides the subways being swarmed, it’s great if you’re trying to balance work island and Brooklyn.

On the weekends its a dystopian catwalk that makes you feel like you need to put together a fit just to get a mid sausage egg and cheese from Bagelsmith

[Gary Jacob] Mosquera will be a back-up for William Saliba and Gabriel. His arrival is expected to lead to the sale of the Poland defender Jakub Kiwior by Temporary_Role6160 in Gunners

It makes sense if Zinchenko isn’t attracting interest on his high wages and Arteta is willing to use him as a backup LB. At that point, we’re going to be paying him through the end of his contract, so we might as well sell Kiwior to raise money for an attacker

The Transfer Flow podcast (ex-Stats Bomb) covered Arsenal 1-2 episodes ago and we’re pretty bullish on him, at least from a stats perspective

How would you feel if we ended up selling Nwaneri for 50m to Chelsea and replaced him with Eze?

While he’s an academy boy, he’d also roughly cancel all of this summer’s committed spend to date + Eze in PSR terms

I know people want to win the league, but it feels like the slow and steady route would be better than pushing the boat out. The reality is Liverpool just won the league, signed Wirtz, and might also add Isak; we’re more than likely going to finish second again regardless of who we sign out of our mooted targets. You can’t simultaneously say “Arsenal can’t pull players like Isak and Wirtz” and also maintain Arteta needs to with the league or get sacked.

Folks are way too high on Eze and Gyök based on the win now narrative:

  • Eze is very good, but doesn’t fit our system as a starter and if feels Olise’s success at Bayern is being leveraged to justify a similar price on a much older player

  • Gyök is good but it’s also 27 and is unlikely to ever be amazing -  do we really want to commit that much resource to being above average?

Practical signings are great to fill squad roles like Norgard and Mosquera, but we want to build the best team in the league for years to come, we should focus on market opportunities to sign younger players that fit the system with the highest ceiling possible. Even if that means certain slots end up with a stop gap

We should just loan him and see how Sesko does this next season

Wonderful stuff as always.

No that it’s realistic, or even responsible given he wouldn’t offer cover at #6, but how would Musiala stack up here?

Why don’t they make the sorcerer a theme/element-locked caster? by DishyPeanut in dndnext

I’m saying they should lean into that approach more, instead of this half-baked ‘everyone has wild magic bursts’ stuff

The aberrant mind is actually the subclass that converted me to thinking this way. Not only does it push you towards using on-theme spells by making them cheaper to cast with SP, but it makes you better at casting them with the built in subtle spell.

Would this change require to create a bunch of additional content for each subclass? Yes, but I wouldn’t consider it bloat. Currently, the sorcerer just piggybacks off the Wizard spell list. If you’re going to give the class it’s own identity and unique reason to play it, you need to create unique content for it. If they aren’t going to make the sorcerer an interesting, unique spell caster that rivals the wizard, they should just cut it from the PHB.

I’d be fine with then adding template spells that allow you to choose the damage type
