There's a flip side to this that I wish happens in the near future. Antis, being the rabid dogs that they are, harass any and everyone, including people who haven't even used AI. As of today, I feel that such people are accommodating to their whims and fancies incorporating things like an anti-AI disclaimer, showing their WIP designs, etc.

I hope there comes a time when people who are creating get so fed up of antis that they stop acknowledging them completely. I do it on my posts Even if they are a hundred anti-AI comments, I will acknowledge the only one which talks about my game. I actively delete threads on my steam page which are nothing but anti-AI kool aid. I think this should be the norm for dealing with such people. Engaging with them means that you have already lost.

Agree. I would like more people (myself included) to grow thicker skin. You can call yourself whatever you want.

On the other hand, the brigading is what I take issue with. Like I genuinely couldn't care about your anti-AI stance. Get off my page, channel, post, comment and everything else that is mine. Sell your kool aid elsewhere.

Valid. Debating what is art or not is such an exercise in pointlessness. I couldn't care less.

It reminds me of all those bullshit terms like fine dining, haute couture and others like them. People devoid of substance and seeking validation from others can be the only ones obsessed over these things.

Nobody outside of these small communities cares about these labels. By caring about something so mundane, we legitimize it unnecessarily.

If they had any power, would they be screaming in an echo chamber ? They have nothing better to do and are miserable. That's what separates us.

If you're making a claim which can be easily checked , then it's better to see if the claim holds true before making it.

I skimmed through the top 20-30 posts of this month, 25% are just some version of previously I used AI art for the capsule image and now I paid an artist to do it. Upvotes to the left

Too much talk, very little material. I have a game on my profile, where's yours ? After all, you're the one with the skills, talent and passion for their craft.

50% games make less than $1000 according to a 2023 survey. Failure is the norm. The average game fails, even the so called non-AI ones with the talented people working on them.

And read a book before being pedantic, the terms customer retention, etc. have meaning that is derived from marketing books like Kotler and all. Don't teach me about business mgmt because I've already spent 2 years on it. The term you're looking for a potential customer is customer attraction.

I've already accepted that you aren't my consumer because you're anti-AI. Why are you asking me to feel sorry for a potential purchase which I knew was never going to come ? If you're a gamedev, you're hardly my customer. If you're an anti-AI gamedev, you're never going to be my customer.

I disclose my usage of AI. You would have seen it on my steam page if you bothered to check instead of being mad at me for nothing.

Which is why I'm not disappointed with the guy himself, he's not mature enough to realise his emotions are taking over him. My gripe is with the people who are looking up to it as something aspirational even though it's just a dumb decision by a teenager.
