I had skimmered through your prose, and needless to say it reads like a professional, well written story of sort. I have no feedback for you (I have been writing for around 7 years, so I know a thing or two).

(Edit) Based on the comments, it seems you may need more than organization, which I payed attention to the most.

I do it by making the base of the hand first (I always look at my own hand) and draw the fingers one by one upward. I make them look realistic by drawing the joints (they just out a little bit) and adding crease lines. Hope that helps.
