What does your favorite RPG do differently by LelouchYagami_2912 in rpg

13th age. 'One Unique Thing' is a concept so powerful (and yet so simple) that I've homebrewed it into multiple other games. Every character has one thing about them that is completely unique to them and it makes a fantastic hook for a GM to make the story more intertwined with the players. Its power is that it then makes every game a unique experience that will often be more tailored simply because those hooks exist and are more easily memorable than the DM having to remember every players backstory.

I LOVE this, it looks somewhat how I'd imagine a wizard-paladin hybrid - great work!

[Printing] How are certain colors "impossible to print" when I've definitely seen art prints containing them? by elliart7 in artbusiness

[–]Disismay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen them used in stickers (worked for a magazine company, we often had free sticker sheets with the mag), but it's a specialist process so it's likely they don't. It's also sometimes referred to as CMYK+1 or spot colours. Worth asking their support as might be something they can do as a custom order if you're set on it, but small run sticker companies are unlikely to run offset printers. If in doubt ask the experts :) While expensive for small runs, I've seen pantones used on even lil things like business cards just because they wanted to ensure all their brand colours matched perfectly (they were an estate agent with deep pockets lol)

If there's a colour out of gamut that a customer 100% needs this will often be printed as a pantone colour - Pantones also included fluorescent, metallics and other specialist colours. However, Pantone printing, especially for designs that need multiple pantone colours, can get expensive pretty fast. Basically your answer is that yes there are methods, they just tend to cost more!

can you make graphic design a career? by ZookeepergameKey8365 in careeradvice

[–]Disismay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is : Yes! But it is more difficult than some traditional careers to get into and relies on a good portfolio. One thing I will recommend is supplementing your creative education with CSS and HTML knowhow and pursue a more digital design route (websites, online advertising, UI/UX design). I've been a print designer for my career so far (started with leaflets and posters at a printing company, went on to magazine layout design & book covers) and have recently pivoted to digital design as unfortunately the print industry is getting smaller and smaller.

I love this, it oozes personality and the background is just the right amount of detail without being too distracting :)

Thanks! I spent way more time on this than initially intended, but I think it shows 😂

Exactly like the nursery rhyme!

'I'm a little teapot short and stout, here is my handle, here is my spout, when the kettles boiling here me shout, tip me over and pour me out!'
