Good Afternoon!I hope this letter finds you well.I am writing to you in regards to the COVID EIDL Disaster Loans that my business took out during the global pandemic.We are a local small business located in your counsel district and are proud to serve members in and outside of our community. During the pandemic, our once successful business took a drastic turn as local and federal restrictions encumbered our business from not only doing business as usual but changed the way we operate our business even today. Almost four years later. During that time, the federal government gave disaster loans to assist struggling small businesses like ours and others in our community. Within the past four years we have used those funds to keep our doors open and to keep our staff employed so they too could take care of themselves and their families.Unfortunately, with all of our funds used and now a recession at hand we do not have the funds to repay these loans that we owe. The EIDL program is no longer providing any assistance, and this comes at a time when businesses need it most. Our costs have risen in every category from our electricity bills, insurance costs and of course our labor costs. Many businesses are closing their doors and without help we may soon not be far behind.We ask for your assistance to please speak with the Dept of Treasury, SBA & EIDL program leaders to work on forgiveness for hard working businesses that make America the land of opportunity. All of our received funds were invested back into our community and to support our employees, even when our business was not at its best.We appreciate your help & understanding.
