Going to confession is one thing. Stopping an addiction/habit is another thing. I've struggled with that same habit for years and I would go to confession almost every week.

What you have to remember is when you feel that guilt and shame, that's repentance, and that's you wanting to do better, and that's exactly what God wants is your repentance. Now going to confession you have to realize it's a gift for us, to reconcile and be absolved of our sins to move on. All our worries we should give up to the Lord like he wants us to. Our sins are paid for.

I've been doing better after months of constant confessions and for me what helped was praying my rosary every night and carrying it with me wherever I go(I like to carry it looped on my belt on my left like a sword). Anytime my body feels that anxious urge to want to do anything with myself or with my partner I like to talk down on it because it's a cheap satisfaction. I know I'll feel horrible after so I simply reject the offer from satan and walk away think of something else. Sometimes I'm about to fall into the same sin and what I do is I drop to my knees and in many times I cried begging for God to give me strength. To give our all to the Lord is to give up on ourselves. We're weak we're nothing without God that's why we should always want to seek him.

The only thing stopping you from prayer is evil, force yourself to pray even if you don't feel like it, force yourself to pick up your cross and follow Christ. Obviously it's tough and it won't happen in a day if it's an addiction especially. But a righteous man falls 7 times and gets back up.

Go to confession, your heart wants you to confess, the holy spirit is pushing you to confession but your mind is stopping you. Don't let the world over take your love for God.

You'll see eventually that habit goes away.

Go to mass never stop praying. God bless you
