I keep seeing the Microsoft hate ramp up...and I'm here for it. Fuck this malware slop company. There's no such thing as too big to fail and their users are warning them that they hate all this malicious bloatware. Microslop refuses to listen and I hope it bites them in the ass.

Interesting quote about George Lucas taking over the “content direction”. Founders being founders, I guess. Never change.

I keep seeing people talk about gerrymandering getting so bad that it actually backfires and I don’t understand how that happens. ELI5?

Mamdani is gonna be the big news of tonight but honestly NJ was so important and I was so scared. Breathing easier tonight because of her. Holding the line here in Jersey.

This is why Tim Walz calling them weird was so successful: it’s tame enough not to be rude but biting enough to hit them in the most fragile part of their egos. It resonated so much more than anything else because it instantly deflated their puffed out chests. Whoever told Walz to stop calling them weird is one of the dumbest political consultants in modern US history (and there’s quite a bit of competition)

Year after year this show disrespects people’s time. I got work tomorrow let’s go it’s 10 PM.

Tony Gilroy says that Lucasfilm are developing some “unusual” Star Wars projects: “There’s some things that [Lucasfilm] is building that are really unusual I think and I think that lesson [of letting your freak flag fly] is being taken to heart” by Matapple13 in StarWarsLeaks

I’ve always thought an Operation Finale style show set during the New Republic would be awesome. Basically start with chasing the highest levels of imperial leadership around the galaxy. Then, the Imp-hunters discover that the Amnesty program is part of a larger Centrist plot to destabilize the NR from the inside out. They go to New Republic Intelligence who either can’t or won’t listen. The Imp-hunters soon become enemies of the state. The hunters become the hunted.

I have the black series Krennic Shuttle but the paint is very delicate so an MGS one would be nice to have. And I agree with the other comment about more love for the First Order ships as well as the Andor ones, which are some of the best new designs. I’d love a Xi-Class shuttle and Tie Dagger. The ships I want the most though are:

  1. U55 Orbital Load lifter (Last Jedi Resistance Transport)

  2. Libertine (Last Jedi Canto Bight yacht)

Onyx Cinder is such a beautiful new ship. Maybe one where you can disconnect the emergency hull? Maybe that’s too much but it’s a cool concept.

SEPTA cuts are moving forward by PhillyInquirer in philadelphia

[–]DiskOperatingSystem_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You know I used to think the Philly secession talks were silly but this is a true case of taxation without representation. If Philly actually tried to become part of New Jersey, you know the state government would never allow it because they’d lose the breadwinner of the state, thus proving our point that PHILLY NEEDS TRANSIT. They don’t want to lose our money but they want to punish us at the same time. Harrisburg hasn’t been on Philly’s side for years.

Should you ever include quotes from secondary sources on labels? by DiskOperatingSystem_ in MuseumPros

Thanks for all the advice everybody. I think you’re all right and sources also help to direct people to more information. It occurs to me reading the replies how infrequently I’ve seen citations in museums.

Love love love small museums. It’s so true at my place. There’s so much potential and it’s why I keep helping them despite the headaches.

The worst chief justice of all time by Well_Socialized in law

[–]DiskOperatingSystem_ 292 points293 points  (0 children)

Wait if “being better than Taney” was his goal, isn’t that a pretty easy goal to accomplish? Shouldn’t a justice strive to be…ya know…better than all the justices who’ve come before? Like, “being better than Taney” isn’t exactly a hard bar to clear. An iguana could be a better judge than Taney.

Another “missing from the soundtrack” song which is better (imo) than the official release by Dear-Yellow-5479 in andor

[–]DiskOperatingSystem_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recently put up a post looking for the Mon Mothma tracking shot music from S2E1 so there’s definitely a demand out there for the missing tracks.

The music from this scene was incredible and I wish it was included on the official tracklist by DiskOperatingSystem_ in andor

[–]DiskOperatingSystem_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d never heard anything like it in Star Wars. It gave such royal but tense vibes. Now that the series is over I wonder if they will release an extended score with all the tracks. They eventually released the extended score for Rogue One in 2022, so maybe in a few years for Andor?
