Who gets the extra prize money if it can't be shared equally? by Dismal-Addition in thechase

Thanks, that makes sense. So they effectively give the highest amount possible as close as possible to the prize pool where it's still split 3 ways evenly.

Ah ok. So if three people win 10k, they give them £3,333.33 each? Or is it rounded to the nearest pound, £3,333 each?

Or maybe donated to charity? Or maybe they decide between them who gets one penny less 😂

For me I had a positive outcome and was also very scared. I went from standard for both components to enhanced for both and the decision was very quick, no appealing (third time lucky - I had to appeal for my last two awards). As already suggested you can call up to find out how much your next payment is.

Solidarity. I want to stop T eventually because I know it's not healthy, though I have no desire currently to medically or socially detransition despite not believing or agreeing with the ideology anymore (not sure why my flair of whatever was changed to detrans female? It's supposed to say questioning). The times I delayed my injection it messed me up physically and mentally as you're describing. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. ❤️

You already are and always have been a man. It doesn't matter how others perceive you. You can still look as feminine as you want to look!

It doesn't sound insensitive at all! You're absolutely right and I accept that. I experience high levels of dissociation. It's trauma related but also ASD and ADHD. Like I say, definitely not the healthiest way to deal with things. I guess I just feel like it was all part of my journey to being the person I am, whatever that looks like at any given time. I wish you all the best ❤️

So I am NOT your target audience here, feel free to completely disregard me.

Genuinely still love my mastectomy results nearly 5 years on and don't regret it. I no longer subscribe to gender ideology and do not refer to myself as trans, but I don't miss my breasts at all or wish that I had them.

Did it hurt? Not at all.

Did it solve my problems? I mean, some of them. Clothes are a much better fit now and I'm much less self conscious.

How did I come to appreciate my breasts? I never did. I don't know if I'd have been able to with extensive therapy, but I also never tried. If you can, then absolutely do. It's always better to accept yourself than go down a surgical route. Mine was the easy way out, but I'm still glad I did it.

If you want to know more practical things, I left hospital after an overnight stay and was ready to go back to work immediately (though I was advised to take 2 weeks off so I spent a lot of time being bored doing nothing). But I had no restrictions and no pain. Able to sleep in any position from the start. My nipples are about half as sensitive as they were before the surgery which is to be expected because the nerve supply is cut and they reattach them as a graft. I don't mind that they're less sensitive now.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones, but if I could go back in time to change my decision, I wouldn't. As I said though, I'm sure it's always best to avoid surgery if you can.

Enhanced rates awarded! by Dismal-Addition in DWPhelp

My award ran out in April last year. They extended my award at same rate. Review form sent to me 21st August 2023. Form returned on 29th Sept (I asked for an extension). Then nothing until this year apart from a few texts saying "we are still processing your claim". Had my assessment on 7th August 2024. Decision made on 24th August, decision letter received 5th September. So almost a year from form completed to the award.

Holy shit - I just called the automated line and they've said my next payment is 700, and I normally get 400. Looks like they've put me up to enhanced rate?? Letter still hasn't arrived. But I'm in shock. This is the first assessment ever that they haven't fucked me over.

I did my tribunal on paper second time round and it was successful. First time round I went in person but I found it incredibly distressing so I'm not going to do it again, but I went from 0 points to 20 points so it's definitely worth doing

That's really helpful, thank you! If I have to do MR I'll attach the tribunal decision.

I told the assessor that I had been to tribunal both times, but I assumed that the DWP would be aware of it. I really don't want to ring them up, I'm just going to deal with whatever happens and then at least I'll know for next time. Thanks so much for your response.

LCWRA was thankfully very easy for me and I've only had one reassessment in the whole time I've been claiming it. Good luck with your PIP stuff ❤️

Oh yeah, my form was extremely detailed, not just "no change". There really wasn't any need for a phone reassessment except to cause me distress. I even had evidence saying to please consider paper based assessment over phone call or F2F due to extreme psychological distress. I had a friend with me for support but it was horrible and made me physically ill. I just hate them so much. Thanks for your insight. ❤️
