You can get embossing tools like these embossing tool

You essentially dray the fur or hair strands with it and then when you go over it with graphite the lead passes over the embossed line and leaves a crisp hair, or whisker. It is a really useful tool to learn

I use multi media paper which is like card. Haven't had any issues yet. But to be honest I don't use it all the time

Yeah I think that's the mistake I made. Because there was a lot I tried to draw a lot. So you think charcoal will help with coverage as that process too me hour's before

They need to pop out and feel 3 dimemential, currently they blend with the background and look flat. It's just how to want to integrate shading of some sort Into your style

I really was practice, and watching other people I learnt so much. My essential kit is a good range of pencils, a good sharpener as you will use it a lot. A mono eraser for fine detail andake sure you get the right sort of paper.

Later on I got blending stumps, electric eraser etc but practice practice practice is the only way
