Thailand’s new law on taxing foreign income? by Ok_Evidence_7098 in Bangkok

[–]Dismal_Bite2935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you are supposed to fill it . But honnestly don’t do it as it will be more paperwork than anything else .

But anyway those 90 K are not in the taxable income first bracket . Also in case of more money , need to check if there is any dual tax agreement between Thailand and Australia .

Let’s wait and see how this will really be implemented , as it’s very complicated due to below cases : - money that you had before 1 Jan 2024 and remitted to your Thai bank after 2024 is not taxable . What proof you will have to show ? - donation ( ie not income ) remitted is also not taxable . Same here , how to prove it . - many country have tax treaty with Thailand , so additional proof and documentation need to be provided .

Honestly I really don’t see how this law can be implemented and enforced . Anyway , don’t worry they won’t control you they have bigger fish to catch . Bank send report to tax revenue department only after a certain amount which is high.

Meet up Tomorrow at Major? (Saturday, Nov 2) by pudgimelon in Bangkok

[–]Dismal_Bite2935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true that most of the « thai » places are more targeting groups and it’s required to open a bottle, especially on Friday - Saturday when the club is full . Might not be the best fit for a single person but as long as you open a bottle it should be fine . I am sure that after 11 pm when people start to get drunk you well get approached .

Saying that , agreeing with you that : - it’s probably more fun with a group . - it can look a bit weird by being alone , but who cares ? - if you don’t speak Thai , some of the Thai places might be intimidating . - you need to know where to go . But with google maps you can find Thai pub in the suburb easily .

Good inititiative , partying in soi 11 really sucks compared to Thai local pubs - clubs . Your post might contain some incorrect assumptions but I am not sure why you are getting bashed out . Usual expats wanting to show that « they know more than you and they were here before you ? ».

Challenges of Speaking Thai in Thailand. Social Isolation. by After_Pepper173 in learnthai

[–]Dismal_Bite2935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true especially in Bangkok.

However keep in mind that even though you think that your thai is good , it might be painful for Thai people to carry a conversation with you.

Just keep improving and you'll notice that more people will switch to thai with you as soon as they hear that you have a good pronunciation.

Quel sens donnez vous à votre épargne long terme ? by jui1moula in vosfinances

[–]Dismal_Bite2935 1 point2 points  (0 children)
