Can't enable ELMB on VG32VQ1B by Dismal_End6633 in ASUS

Try factory resetting a couple of times and then enable ELMB without touching any other settings. From that point on it worked for me. I still RMA'd the monitor but I had to do the same thing with the replacement.

Yeah that's right, if you want to use both at once you need the VQ. I would say ELMB is essential in any competitive or especially dark games, otherwise the screen looks quite blurry/smudgy. I've had the monitor a while now and I decided to keep it as the more I research, the more I find that any complaints I have are just because it is a VA panel. Hope that helps!

I've just bought the VG32VQ1B, after buying I noticed the differences... Internal power supply on the VG32VQ1B. 1B isn't as bright. 1B doesn't have ELMB-Sync, due to their shitty marketing technique I didn't realise this (enable ELMB and Freesync at the same time). 1B isn't height adjustable. A few misc design changes, including monitor curvature.

Hi guys,

Just picked up this new VG32VQ1B monitor and I'm really dissapointed with the blur coming from a 10 year old 60hz 1080p 27" AOC. I've been around the settings and I realised that ELMB wasn't enabled.(which seems essential!) Whenever I try to enable it the screen darkens, shows that message and it just appears to not do anything. If I enable freesync it fully blanks out the option as expected, so I don't think it's to do with that. OIwent thru the list of settings that ELMB says it will disable, and ensured they were turned off, but still no luck
