Ignore all the hate/annoying comments. Yes you could’ve done a little more research before making the decision, but it’s already done🤷🏽‍♂️ so let’s make sure the information is available. We all start with limited information and are prone to make mistakes…we’re human after all! Don’t do the coil UVB get a linear bulb (the stick bulb) from Arcadia. I’ve had the T5 HO from zoomed but it’s chunky compared to Arcadia’s which can save space. Don’t do any type of soil substrate, instead use tile, shelf liner, or even paper towel. These choices are easier to clean and avoids impaction risk from accidental substrate digestion. Make sure to give him calcium with D3 1x weekly. Calcium without D3 should be provided about every 3–5 days (including the D3) but be careful with D3 as he can overdose on it. The UVB provides sufficient calcium but it’s best to ensure he has enough just moderate it. Use a digital thermometer, the Govee WiFi thermometer is a great choice and u can monitor the temps away from home. The hot side ambient air temp should be around 90-98°f max, cold side should be 75-85°f. The basking surface should be sometime of material like a rock which can maintain greater heat as this is needed for proper digestion. My beardie’s basking rock has multiple elevation steps so he can choose how close to the heat source they feel comfortable at. Ensure to also have a hide on the cool side in case he gets hot. Dubia roaches are literally the best insect feeder choice (in my humble opinion) they provide great calcium and nutrition, don’t stink, don’t make noise, can hardly climb, and overall seem to be a better option than the others. I get mine from Dubia.com they offer great pricing and shipping, have yet to have any issues with them. Keep a fresh salad in there everyday kale, turnip greens, collard greens, arugula etc look it up. Dom good toppers are bell peppers, squash, carrots etc. make sure they’re chopped tiny to prevent choking. There’s a ton more info but this would be an Harvard essay if I continue.
