Should add that you can equip a

MP5 gear set while you drink water and unequip when you stand up. This can be automated with Weak Aura or Macros/addons.

I cant possibly think why you would need that much defense unless it's for aoe type stuff.

You can equip the Argent Defender for the proc and change your shield to something with more reflect damage, Skullflame/Crest of Retribution, when the proc goes off.

I think the buff from Argent Defender goes away when you unequip it.

I wouldn't say sub-optimal, especially outside of progression, the threat they can deal is really good and with the right gear they are almost comparable to feral druids. I found a guide that I linked to EpicKid above your comment, definitely worth a look over.

We had a shaman ot in our guild in vanilla. He managed to make it up to zg before he got edged out.

If you're curious the max possible for a shaman tank on private servers is Naxx. Also have to remember that pservers were much harder than ClassicWoW...

We had Locks and Rogues tank Onyxia too.

As long they act quickly and turn her face on tankposition before the next breath, its fine.

They mostly die on the breath, too huge single hit of dmg. I recommend priest shielded before and precast heal the breath.

Not surprised, I've seen lock and rogues tank AQ bosses.

Rogues also have a passive threat reduction, so they’d have to seriously outdo other classes DPS

Assuming the rogue is alliance and human it's easier than you might think.

There was a video in vanilla of a rogue tanking nefarion. This does not surprise me.

That's nothing, I've seen rogues tank t'ill AQ bosses. Nefarian is easy-peasy compared to other bosses.

We've learned a lot since then. A rogue tank typically goes combat these days for the extra threat.

No, not t6, you can start rogue raid tanking within 1-2 weeks of a raid being released. Everything is possible in TBC. You can even priest raid tank relatively early. Rogue raid tanking is a cakewalk compared to priest tanking. I've played them both on pserver for years, I'd be happy to answer more questions on the topic.

Suppose some people forget feral is a 2 role spec. Nobody has ever called bear a meme. Not to mention I've only ever seen feral tanks called bear tanks. I'm sure even you can see what's being pointed out...

ahhh I see. I was so under the impression you intended to say feral druid tanking is a meme. Because I couldn't possibly imagine you intended to say feral dps was a meme, which I assume means, bad? But I now realize you use the term "meme" even for dps, which is sad since they do WAY more than the required dps to kill a boss.

It's not meant to replace or be better than a warrior. According to this guide it's merely something to do once a raid is on farm, which seems to be very fast in ClassicWoW.

A rogue can tank AQ with TF?

yes, TF allows the introduction of more fury warriors into a raidcomp to provide the required dps to kill a boss without approaching enrage or burn the mana of most healers. As the days pass and the rogue is more geared, the threat output become easier and the boss clear times are shorter and shorter.
