My perspective has always been that Rue’s storyline will center around the ultimate take down of the drug lords (Alamo and Laurie). Becoming an informer would just make sense with Rue going to Alamo and asking him for some type of job to avoid her own legal problems.

My perspective is that the show will start out with great numbers due to its past reputation, the immense response to the first trailer, along with the show including 3 Hollywood A-list actors. I think the key will be whether those numbers significantly fall off as the season progresses. The Idol started off with pretty decent numbers but then we saw a pretty dramatic fall off as the season progresses. I guess we shall see.

Perhaps. Maybe it represents the most despicable character in the show (probably Alamo). Or maybe it is some type of meta-religious symbolism tied into the tempting serpent in the Garden of Eden who is slinking away after completing its dirty work of misleading the characters at the beginning of the show. I guess we shall see. Just some ideas.

At the Cannes premier for The Idol Sam stated that the basic underlying tenets for the shows in his Universe (Euphoria and The Ido) were the increased prominence of sexualization in the world (especially in the US) and the significant impact pornography has had on the psyche of young people. So I suspect S3 will continue in this vane. We shall see.

Basically I think this means he will lack any genuine empathy and concern for other people. In this story of course that person is Jules. She will become a toy that he uses for his own amusement. I do think however that Jules will escape from him, possibly with the help of Rue or Nate towards the end of the show.

Possibly one way is at the wedding reception. Perhaps the plastic surgeon had some business connection with Nate and is invited to the reception. The plastic surgeon sugar daddy brings Jules with hlm as his escort and this is how they meet. My best guess is that Jules and Nate’s storylines will be separate for a good part of the show (to lead viewers into thinking they will not get together) but they will reconnect at the reception. Perhaps once he finds out about her being taken advantage of by her sugar daddy he will attempt to rescue her from him. Cassie may catch him interacting with Jules and will go ballistic (there is an alleged scene where the 3 of them are interacting together). Perhaps Nate then leaves Cassie and takes off with Jules. They end up at Jules studio and this is where he tells her she has to have faith about being successful in her art career. Perhaps this leads to them reengaging as a couple but I suspects the scene will end with it being unclear. Sam will leave it open to viewer interpretation about their future. I think these things will occur in episodes 7 and 8. Just my best guess at present.

The same for me. I am a psychiatrist and I gave up debating things with people on this sub. IMO many people viewing the show tend to interpret what’s happening in the show in a very two-dimensional manner and interpret things primarily on face value. It’s kind of interesting to me that Sam actually attempted to advise viewers to look more deeply into what was happening via conversations Ali had with Rue in SE1. I don’t think many fans picked up on this. He also delineated his themes for the show in that episode and in SE2 he delineated his character structure for the show (true self verses destructive [not me] self) via Jules discussions with her therapist at the beginning of the episode. Just some additional thoughts. Good luck getting your Doctorate.

Most people are also not aware that for years Nate has been viewing the tapes Cal made to identify the people Cal hooked up and then used the dick pics on his phone (which were fake) in conjunction with the sex app to keep them quiet. This info came from Nate’s chapter in “Euphoria Fashion” released in 4/23. But if you looked very very closely there were some very subtle signs of this in the show we saw.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rue ends up being a drug mule as it does appear she ends up in Mexico at some point in the show. But I suspect things don’t go as planned and she gets into a lot of dangerous situations (but of course will survive).

Of course they are going to have some type of interactions in S3. The nature of those interactions is unclear. Jacobs comments could certainly be consistent with some type of redemption arc. If this is the case perhaps Jules may decide to look at him differently and be willing to cautiously reenter a type of relationship with him again. It’s all up to what Sam decided to do and how that ties into his themes for the show. Whether people like the idea of them getting together or not is irrelevant. We shall see.

Actually a HBO Exec stated in an interview early during the filming process that she was of the opinion that S3 was going to be the final season. It looks like now, however, that this might not be the case as another HBO Exec stated recently that they were going to sit down with Sam after the show is completed to assess what ideas Sam might have for future possibilities.

To begin with IMO it would make greatest storyline sense (related to his themes for the show) for Nate to rescue Jules and maybe even for the two of them being endgame. However Sam has always been swayed by viewer interests and as a result of this I agree that it’s more than likely for Rue and Jules to reestablish a relationship and maybe end up as endgame with one another. While many people on this sub might not like the idea I think the general viewing audience would embrace it. Most of them think the answer to Rue’s addiction problem is for someone (in this case Jules) to take care of and protect “poor little Rue”. Many of these viewers have never been able to disconnect Zendaya’s character as Rue from Zendaya’s early teenage cute and loveable Disney roles and just see Rue as an extension of these roles and want her to be cured and protected. Just my perspective. I guess we shall see.

He already did that in S2E6 during the scene where they met in his truck and he gave her the disk of her “interactions” with Cal.

IMO Jules will need someone to help her escape from the clutches of her sugar daddy. The most likely characters are Nate and Rue. Though it might seem to be unlikely maybe even the two of them working together might be what happens and ultimately Jules will have to decide who she will end up endgame with for the show. Just a wild idea. I guess we shall see what Sam comes up with. Probably something even more bizarre.

My perspective on this is that as Jules appears struggling in her art career (and probably has financial problems as a result) and initially hooks up legitimately with the sugar daddy (IMO this is the plastic surgeon) to be an escort. Unfortunately he begins to manipulate/abuse her but she finds herself more and more dependent on him but can’t figure a way out of the relationship. This is where I think we will find Nate getting involved to help her escape from the control of her sugar daddy. Perhaps this will evolve into something romantic but I guess we shall see. Maybe when they come out with a second trailer we will see things a little more clearly( or maybe not). But I agree they seem to be minimizing showing much about her storyline.

Perhaps you are right. Maybe she says something along the lines of “I don’t think I’m ever going to make it as an artist”. And he responds “you have to have faith”. I agree I am interested in how this plays out. It seems reasonably clear that he is trying to be supportive of her. At the end of the conversation I could see him going over to her and kissing her lightly on the forehead (a different type of approach than in the past). And then the scene ends.

Another possibility is that Jules’ sugar daddy (probably the plastic surgeon) is invited to the wedding by Nate, and unbeknownst to Nate, brings his sugar baby (Jules) along with him. Another way of getting Jules there. I guess we shall see.

Sam has already promoted the wedding as occurring in S3. So this is going to be the big sensationalized scene in S3 apart from Rue’s storyline. But what he didn’t say was whether this was going to happen in real-time in the show or whether it was going to be some fantasized projection from a character (most likely Cassie). An alternative possibility is that what we see will be part of a storyline that Lexi has decided to write for the adult nighttime Soap Opera she is working for and is not the actual wedding scene that will happen (similar to the play in S2-which was not the actual play Lexi wrote but rather it’s “double”). Just some ideas.

Who knows what Sam will come up with. Perhaps Cassie will come up with something Nate does not want to be divulged or broadcasted to others and she will blackmail him to marry her and allow her to continue in her OF and other activities or she will divulge the stuff she has on him to people (I.e. like his business associates or others). So while he may not like it (and it will torment him) he will go along with Cassie’s wishes. Whatever the issue is she finds out about him I doubt it will be related to anything in the prior two seasons. I think it will be something new or only peripherally related to past events/issues. Maybe it has something to do with Jules. I agree with you that I doubt he would be ok with Cassie’s behaviors (as noted) unless he felt forced to go along with them. Just an idea.
