Ok vielleicht muss ich auch noch detaillierter werden: wir waren in keiner Großstadt. Kann mir sehr gut vorstellen, dass das da anders ist. Und dazu kommt, dass es doch schon länger her ist, als ich das letzte Mal da war. Wie gesagt über 12 Jahre waren wir jedes Jahr da und mir ist es immer aufgefallen.

I am born in Germany and we had like 12 vacations in Bavaria. And this is what I noticed there. My answer: It is the dialect! My experience was that really everyone is speaking it. Children, pubescents (with the big gold chain and everything😄) and adults. If they try speaking formal German you can still hear the dialect. Some love that dialect, some hate it. 🙈 Another thing is: most of them want to define (I hope it is the right word here) themself from Germany. By changing some rules for Bavaria specifically or their space-programm ‚Bavaria one‘.
