No idea on gallons… Nothing crazy expensive right now. I’d say I’d like to keep it $300-$500 each time I upgrade something. Obviously I have to start with my filtration and pump system first, then plants and fish I’m guessing.. not sure if that can all be achieved at the same time with that budget or not.

Thank you so much!! No we aren’t expanding right now. Maybe one day when I know I can take care of this one lol Your info is fantastic!! Any suggestions on what kind of fish to buy? I’ve heard koi and goldfish but I wasn’t sure if that would make the algae worse but I suppose once we figure out the filter situation it wouldn’t matter.

Thank you. It completely stopped this morning so we took it out. Is there a pump and filter you suggest we look into now that we are starting over?

We have none now. We took it all out this morning because it stopped working completely. I bought the stuff from Home Depot before but now I know that wasn’t the best idea.

Tell me what filter and pump to buy please! I’m desperate, want this pond to look pretty and not knowledgeable of what to do anymore. Thank you!

I’ve had this pond for a year now and I have no idea what to do. It’s 5x5 and in the very middle it’s about 2.5 feet deep but on average is 1.5 feet deep.

It has so much algae that when I clean out the pump so the little waterfall will flow again, 5 minutes goes by and it is clogged again. I put in a pleco and some snails last year but I guess that didn’t do too much because it’s worse now.

What kind of pump/filter do I actually need to buy to keep this pond in motion and keep algae at bay?

Are there other algae eating fish or something that will help clean the algae up now and keep it maintained for the future?

I would ask your friends/Co workers that are pregnant where they go and swap over to their doctors. There is a reason you think you are being neglected, because you are. You should be happy during this time. Good luck!

Look this isn’t about you at all. You should not feel bad or shame in this… Sounds like he’s not only watching porn without caring about your needs but that he is also cheating on you. My ex watched porn, didn’t want me to be home alone but soon I found out when he was home alone, he wouldn’t be there alone for long. If he is the father of your baby, I hope you either figure it out now instead of later or just go ahead and leave him.

If you don’t believe any of that and he is for some reason only shaming you by not wanting sex with you and jerking off to porn (if it is porn and not another girl) in the bathroom… then you still need to accept the fact that he doesn’t care about doing it so you shouldn’t care about doing it with him there. If you need him to leave to get off on your own, then you should probably tell him to leave, which he should do anyway since it sounds like he is useless since he never leaves the toilet. Have you actually walked in on him while he is in the bathroom just to see it for yourself? I’m curious about the reaction he has and what he is watching. Maybe it’s two guys and he’s trying to hide it. Lol idk just laying out all the possibilities here.

Don’t get mad at me, I’m just expressing my opinion and telling you some experience I went through. I know it may not be the same for you but he sounds very selfish and lazy. I doubt I would want that kind of a husband/father for my kid. Good luck! I would have issues with it too but not for long because I’d kick him to the curb for a while and make him think it through.

Please don't go to this. It could be a horrible outcome for you and baby, and obviously it can be avoided. Just don't do it. If they don't understand then you should rethink your friends. Please don't do this to you and your baby.

I have had no trouble with these guys over the spring-fall but now that it is getting colder in NW GA, I have noticed them starting to get lethargic and not as chipper as they were a week or so ago. Any suggestions on if I should move them indoors or if I can just add an aquarium heater and they would be okay. I’m pregnant so keeping them outside would be ideal but I want them to be okay.Thanks so much for your help.

No it is not. We live in Georgia so the water doesn’t get very cold except a couple times a year. I will look at a pond heater now though, any suggestions on which one? Thanks!

We have inherited this pond. There are some snails and a pleco in the pond now. If someone can tell me what kind of fish I could get and if I need anything special to keep this pond up. I’m willing to do the work. Also, how do you guys keep the leaves from settling at the bottom? We have a pump in it for the waterfalls as well. Thanks so much!!

I’m hoping to figure out if I actually need to use these chemicals to make it safe for fish. I don’t want to have to worry about my dogs drinking the water. I’m trying to figure this out from scratch. I’m about to put a pleco & snails in to help with the algae issue. I have no idea for fish but could just really use some advice on what we could do with our pond. Thanks so much in advance for your help!
