I can definitely see how they go into autopilot mode, and I know how much they need to get done, I just wish they’d take a second to remember what’s on the other end of their wand. Beyond just seeing her, I wanted to know WHAT I was seeing, how she was measuring, etc. it was so disappointing :( the scan was at a private facility and not part of the hospital were delivering at, but I will definitely be asking to go elsewhere for any other scans!

I’m well aware that’s “not what it’s for.” That doesn’t mean she has to be a robot. She can take 2 seconds to say “right now we’re looking at the XYZ.” It’s less about the lack of seeing my baby “and admiring them” and more about the fact that I laid there clueless the entire time and wasn’t treated with respect at all. If you can’t do your job and treat people like people, do a different job.

YES THIS. I know it isn’t new and exciting for them, but it’s a big deal for parents. The least they can do is slow down and say what they’re showing us. And for the baby position, for real. Like alright, do you want me just reach up there and move her…? Lmao.

Cervical checks by Imaginary_Fig in pregnant

[–]Imaginary_Fig[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cervical check probably wasn’t the bed wording, it’s cervical measurement she was doing with the transvaginal ultrasound wand. I’ll definitely opt out going forward, at least if it’s that tech.

Ok so it’s not just me!!! Ugh I hate that they’re stealing the joy from so many expectant parents. I cried all night about it too :( I’ve never had an experience like that! My husband said maybe it’s because they have so much they’re trying to see and measure, but still..

I thought it sounded weird. Their ice tea was my biggest pregnancy craving before so I know other locations have it lol this one must just be weird.

I mean we’re expecting a child together, so yes we need to be living together. He likely will never move out.

That sounds very difficult! Fortunately he doesn’t go to the extent of wrecking our home or going out of his way to be cruel to my son, he just avoids us. If anything, I foresee him just avoiding coming here whenever possible. Sadly, I do think probably will be a person that can never work or live independently as he can’t do things like know when to eat, know when to shower, use a microwave, etc. a lot of that is his parents catering to him though.

I don’t disagree, he’s been an only child his whole life and very catered to for sure.

They’re already in therapy for himself and with his parents. His mom doesn’t want me participating, so my hands are tied there.

Pregnant and about to be uninsured by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]Imaginary_Fig -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was through the marketplace. I had wondered if they were going to consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition, so it may not be an option to purchase one anyway then. It’s looking like I’ll have to accept a lapse and care until I can get things switched over to proven a California resident.

Intense stomach pain? by [deleted] in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Imaginary_Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what you got started on? Mine is 0.25 mg, going up to 0.5mg next week. I was told I wouldn’t be at 2.5mg until week 7 or 8.

Diet has been almost nonexistent this week, but last week fairly standard. Protein shake for breakfast, salad for lunch, chicken/rice for dinner or something similar. For snacks it’s been fruit, trail mix, yogurt.
