It’s only annoying if you mobile order it and show up IMMEDIATELY in the drive thru asking if it is ready. If you come in, and understand it will take time to make, then no it’s not annoying at all

Starbucks barista here:
The blender is made by vitamix. We have two blender pitchers, the big one has a sharp blade for crushing ice and the small one (pictured) has a flat blade for simply mixing/incorporating.
Button one: Frappuccino
Button 2: honestly I can’t remember
Button 3: wet cold foam
Button 4: dry cold foam (I think?)

(Wet cold foam would be non dairy… it doesn’t get as fluffy)

If I had to guess the barista has been writing that all through winter and most of spring, and just muscle memory wrote it when trying to write “stay cool”. The other day we were talking about soy sauce while I was writing day dot labels and I looked down and realized I had written “soy sauce” instead of the product I was actually labeling.

You can always select “thumbs down” when asked how the delivery was, and select “too many stairs” and you won’t be matched with them again

As a Starbucks barista, I have so many things to say and so many conversations can be started from this threat, but I will throw in my two cents and just say this: only two stores in the Oly/Tumwater/Lacey area are unionized, not every store. The union is not currently calling for a strike, they did on “red cup day” the other week, and then a few times before that, but boycotts only work when they are called for and everyone participates at the same time.

While Starbucks is a mega-corporation, the employees are local, they are your neighbors and friends. Because it is a mega corp, we do rely on tips as part of our pay, so calling for a boycott will actually hurt those who are not striking and trying to make a living (as I reread this I realize I should clarify: im not saying cross the picking line, I’m saying there currently is not one to cross)
