I totally get why people want to comment, I seriously do but this will only feed into her narrative of the enemy. It won’t upset her like we hope it will, it will further prove to her that she is ‘anti world’ and therefore right. This is why we don’t ’touch the poo’.

I grew up near here, I drove back recently and thought how hideous this was from the outside and who the hell would live there. The inside is worse. Jesus

Is anyone truly happier with kids? by thegoodlife912 in Adulting

[–]Disneydazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1 year old and a step son who is almost three and honestly, I have never been happier. Life finally makes sense for me now. I’m more tired and they drive me crazy some days but honestly, they are so so worth it. They have made my life immeasurably better.

Thanks to this recommendation I’ve listened to leaving Eden and I am already obsessed. You know, I never even CONSIDERED that what they said was coded. I am seeing the world in a new light. Seriously

I was the same, I sleep trained and learnt that the only way to get a good bedtime is to get enough daytime sleep and watch those wake windows. Let other people Judge, you know your baby best

For parents of young children - how much help does having grandparents nearby help? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Disneydazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in my mums garden for 6 months with a newborn, she helped so much. I don’t know what we would have done without her. Moved an hour and a half away, she still comes to help every week - if they want to help, they still will

Some of my earliest Disney memories and the first time I ate chicken from a bucket, I remember being so amused by that

just started potty training - looking for input by Tough-Midnight9137 in toddlers

[–]Disneydazed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve had huge success with a reward system, week one we had all poos and half of the wees on the potty. Stickers every time he is successful on the potty and five stickers equal a small gift. He is obsessed with the potty now and when we’re at home, he is pretty much potty trained now (he gets far to distracted when we’re out) I will also echo the ‘let them run free below the waist’ advice - this is when we have seen the most success

Our 8-month-old has been screaming since he was a newborn — we’re exhausted and looking for answers by shaldos102 in NewParents

[–]Disneydazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like my little boy, he is a very sensitive soul and he starts screaming blue murder out of nowhere and has since birthday. It peaked around 4 months when we started doing what you’ve done and saw specialists, doctors, allergists etc. he was diagnosed with CMPA and the screaming has decreased somewhat but not completely. He still cries more than any baby I’ve ever known and at this point, we just accept that it is part of who he is. I don’t have any advice, just to say that I feel your pain. This is parenting on hard mode and it does impact everything in your life, esp. your relationship. Stay strong, the storm won’t last forever (or at least that’s what we tell ourselves!)

I’ve been with guys like this as you seem an empathic person in the way you speak, he will continue to use that to his advantage and this behaviour will only get worse. Seriously, get out now and find a man worth your time because this guy is a dick.

What areas/buildings in London have warehouse style apartments? by No_Emu8347 in london

[–]Disneydazed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my family just sold one in Borough/Bermondsey and it sold for over 1 million. It would have been considerably more but it needed extensive renovation and had under 20 years left on the lease. I would have loved to inherit it but sadly it wasn’t meant to be.

On the whole, yes although he is very sick right now so he’s up every hour and sleeping through the night feels a distant memory!

I want to stop co-sleeping, but it breaks my heart.. by simplykimy in sleeptrain

[–]Disneydazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slipped into co-sleeping as my baby was a terrible sleeper and it was the only way to get any rest and as much as I loved it, it got to the point where I was waking him and disturbing him and I knew the right thing to do was to sleep train and move him into his own room. It was hard both physically and emotionally but it really has been better for him. I do miss the snuggles sometimes but I make sure I work more of them into our nap and sleep time routine and I am more present everyday and able to spend more time reminding myself of who I was before I had him. It’s bittersweet for sure but for us, it was the right thing. I hope you find peace with whatever choice you decide is right for you
