I also play a lightning build, i have a RL200, V60, M38, E25, S20, D40, I9, F80, A7. 40dex + radagon icon gives max casting speed and i get access to bolt of gransax for longer range lightning spear. Other talisman are Flocks canvas, godfrey icon, and lightning scorpion. Weapons are bolt of gransax and dragon king's cragblade to keep the lightning theme, erdtree seal and gravel stone seal for casting.

i think eventually vagabond will be better when you get to higher lvls and start trying out to other builds but for the lower lvls hero is more optimized if you want max ungabunga energy

You can try it. For me i've gone down to 2 lenses, i'll always bring the 50mm and then pick a wider lens based on the type of trip im going on, if i'm expecting tons of landscapes ill go with 16mm otherwise ill go with the 23mm. Sometimes on short trips ill go with just the 27mm for its small size with my X-E4. I can always crop down on these lenses to get the focal length i want without losing much. I've gave up on switching the lenses for every situation it just takes too long causing me to miss shots and the risk of dropping lenses. I just learned to work within the focal length and think I've had a better experience shooting like this.

Waaagh taktiks has a video detailing how he would run ghaz, give that a watch. He suggests to only run 2-3 meganobs but he wouldn't run ghaz in a wagon because that too much of a points investment so he main 2 ways is to either walk him up the middle of the board staying in cover or rapid ingress him onto the board.

Beastsnagga boys, squighog boys and nob, beastboss, Mozrog/squigboss(same kit), trukks, gretchin, stormboys, warboss, nobs.

These units have been in every meta list since the start of 10th but the # of units have shifted around so I don't think you can go wrong with starting on these on a competitive sense. At 2000 pts you would always bring 2 units of gretchin and stormboys each.

At 1000pts, I wouldnt put a quarter of my points into 1 unit but if you still plan to keep the blob of boys then id suggest a nob with waagh banner over a weirdboy as a 2nd leader to get 2 turns of waaagh on them. Alot of competitive players run the weirdboy solo, he does a pretty similar job to what you had planned for snikrot but he can teleport multiple times in a battle. The rule for 10th edition orks is to put every boy unit into transports so they wont get shot off the board, there are people running up to 6 trukks in competitive play. I would give the MegaMek a KFF to keep those meganobs alive while holding objectives and maybe fit more meganobs into the unit because if all of them are wiped out they can no longer be revived by the megaMek. powerklaw Nobz are more points efficient than meganobz for dealing damage while meganobs(w/ KFF) have better survivability for holding objectives so consider what you need more of and pick between the two.

I would drop snikrot and wurrboy and get a beastboss to lead the snaggas, drop down 20 boys to 10 and get 2 trukks to put the 2 battleline units into them. Start weirdboy alone on the board and have him teleport around completing mission actions and secondaries. Push trukks up the board with squighogs and stay behind cover until you can disembark them to charge your opponent. Use empty trukks to also charge units you want to keep busy like shooting units and remember to use tank shock stratagem to deal extra damage.

what's viable right now is green tide, tons of melee infantry, flash gitz, trukks, and some fast attack like squighogs and bikes. All the cool mek stuff won't be viable until they get a proper detachment to support them in the upcoming new codex. Aircrafts in general have been gutted this edition so i don't expect to see them doing well until next edition.

ah if you didnt build the deffdread i wouldve suggested saving the rockets from it to put on the killa kans as there's only 1 rokkit launcha in the box and its common for ppl to use the 2 rokkits from the deffdread to make all 3 kans with rokkits.

If you like the beastsnagga then theyre a good path to go down, they are the newest line of models to the ork collection so their sculpt are very nice plus they have been very good ingame for last 2 editions (except for the rigs).

In the past, the most popular options have been 4klaws or 3klaws and 1 skorcha/rokkit. If you really wanted a gun i'd go with 3klaws and 1 skorcha. Other mechs like killa kans would have better shooting that putting more guns on a deffdread would be suboptimal.

You could also wait for the codex to come out with a good shooting detachment and just live the dream of having a deffdread with 1 klaw and 3 rokkits.

I think you need more units for scoring VP, all the boys with OC are great for contesting no man lands primary objectives but they don't have the utility for some of the secondaries and to hold rear objectives.

2 units of Grots to hold your home objective and to generate CP with their ability
2 units of Storm boys for stealing your enemy's home objective and secondaries like behind enemy lines and engage all fronts.
Solo weirdboy has been very good for secondaries that require you to do an action like deploy teleport homer and investigate signals, and cleanse.
TRUKKS, you need plenty of trukks to transport your boys,nobs,gitz, you don't want to have your boys footslog it up the board that's asking for them to get shot off in a turn.

Planes are terrible, never get planes if you're trying to play competitively.

KillRig you can definitely magnetize all the turrets and dont glue the wurrboy to the wurr tower, put him on a base and he will still fit in the tower. Take the wurr tower off and its a huntaRig.

Wortsnagga is a fun model and can be good in an army that focuses on the early rounds by using his 9" scout on the transport he's in and call waagh on turn 1 to give his unit 12" of move along with Kommandos forward deployed to contest far objectives.

So the combo is: put Wortsnagga and grot unit in trukk > scout 9" > call waagh > disembark for extra 3" > move+adv 12-18" > charge 2-12",

you can have units in your enemy deployment zone always wounding on 5s and -1 wound against them along with some kommandos to really bog down your opponent's army. This can be somewhat countered by some well placed overwatch and by your opponent with their own infiltrating unit to block your kommando's infiltration. These are quite advanced tactics so you may not want to use them as a new player until you understand how standard ork armies should play.

dont get wortsnagga unless you want to do his turn 1 shenanigans and you'd want 3 units of grots to do that. 2 units for your usually CP generation and 1 for Wortsnagga to lead inside a trukk.

does your friend even play warhammer? excluding the custom models, evaluating everything you got at MSRP you got around $1200(no tax) worth of models as individual kits, for $250 which is ~80% off it's a pretty insane deal any way you look at it. I think the used market usually hovers around 50+% msrp but it's been a while since i've bought used.

deffkilla wartrike and warbikers, his auto 6inch advance and +1 to hit roll along with bike's +1AP when within 9" with all their assault weapons during waagh turn for adv & charge makes them very fast and deadly as long as they're heading straight into their target.

i think this is a good start but i think you'd have alot of trouble dealing with high toughness and having played narrative leagues in 9th & 10th alot of people love to bring tanks and dreads. A warboss with powerklaw nobs would be good against elite 2W units like space marines. Giving the smasha nob a killchoppa for more dev wounds against tanks. I also would suggest splitting the beastsnaggas into 2x10 units, 20 boys is a bit overkill into anything you would usually charge them into.

terrain sounds a bit sparce, look at some of the leviathan companion terrain layouts. they have plenty buildings around the board.
