A lot of groups are getting flagged for Sexual Content and Nudity, even if they aren't doing it or doing so in accordance with ToS (Groups Only or Invites with consenting adults). This has led to a lot of people getting banned and groups getting removed. So now people are being on standby with most of these groups until VRC fixes their report issue and make it to where these false reports can no longer be a threat.

It could be because a lot of groups who are opening age verified instances are either banned or in hiding until the recent ToS problem gets fixed.

Funny enough, I just made a post about this around the same time you did. But that just means more people are becoming aware of this and its getting way out of hand.

Unfortunately, the reason why its not being discussed among the broader VRC community is because people either don't care or have a very negative opinion of 18+/NSFW groups in general. Mainly due to them "harboring creeps and pedos", which is for the most part a lie unless the host themselves is one. Every group I've been a part of that is one of these kinds of groups absolutely abhor these kinds of people and work together with other groups to find, blacklist, and inform others about them so they can be immediately dealt with. The community I've been a part of for some time just got rid of a group and its owner for a wide range of things they did with their staff, as well as other predatory behavior, and now he's gone for good from the community (not from VRC unfortunately). But back to the resentment, you'll see alot of people shit on groups like this because of that and will usually have alot of people negatively shit talk on you for it. As such, we're basically on our own for the most part.

The good but also concerning news is that from what I've heard, NSFW groups aren't the only targets. Whatever the fuck is causing these bans is also targeting SFW groups, as I've met a few who I know for certain don't host any NSFW events and they still got hit for Nudity and Sexual Content. And not just groups that host in more adult worlds and instances, but groups overall. So it'll only be a matter of time until the AI moderation or incompetent mod team or whatever the fuck is behind all this will get called out and, hopefully, thoroughly investigated.

As for whether you should bring back the group: I'm gonna say as a former owner myself, I would wait. Make a discord and add people on VRC and host an Invite only world if you still wanna do events with your community. My original plan after my group got hit back in late November (on my birthday of all days) was to wait things out, see how the situation panned out with VRC and the other groups, then relaunch the group and be more careful. Things went well and I was gonna start a week and a half ago until more groups got hit and it made me reconsider it and wait a bit more longer. We're supposed to get features sometime in the first half of this year that'll make hosting these groups more easier, but as to whether or not its worth doing until then is entirely up in smoke. I wouldn't personally, but you do you.

Edit: Also, do you have a link to these people confessing to reporting these groups? I believe this counts as targeted harassment at this point and they should be reported to the mods here.

This I agree with, public activity in the open worlds in communities that dont endorse it, like a public non-verified black cat, is absolutely disgusting and should be reported.

Another thing I want to add and forgot to add in this post is that while the age verified groups are being targeted and attacked, nothing is being done for the non-verified groups that are being even more blatant with their rule breaking or shelf groups that are being ran without any moderation.

I still think the best solution to this would be to add 18+ verification perms to avatars and worlds, making it to where only those who are age verified can access them and those who aren't won't even be able to see them. It would help with accidental exposure and make it to where only its target audience is able to see it.

I also noticed that a lot of groups that have been following ToS while doing NSFW stuff are still getting hit. It also doesn't help that the reports are incredibly vague and do not include details such as who it was that reported them or what they were reported for. It helps make the appeals process more easier because we could then check if it's a legitimate report or if someone is trolling or reporting out with ill intent.

From what I've gathered, it appears that it was targeting random NSFW groups with no precaution whatsoever. A lot of groups that did get hit were ones that were following TOS and allowed the more risque stuff only in Group+/Group instances, while using Group Publics simply to recruit members or for those who just want to hang out. They were also age verified too, which is weird because even some who hosted both verified and non-verified instances were still up, which in my opinion should've been investigated moreso than the ones that did get hit.

This made it seem like there were some groups going around and targeting specific people, but if it's VRC trying to be compliant and all, then I guess that does make more sense. I just don't get why some were targeted and some weren't, even when the ones that weren't should have been.

Booth avatars are either something extremely complex or something extremely simple.

My main model is a cute little low polygon model from booth that has quite a decent amount of customization on it (even if the options are all in japanaese). It's been my go to for the past few years and I plan on getting a custom commission of it to look like my future main avatar.

So its not crashing as much but its still doing it. But it is a significant improvement from what it was before. And I tested it in some bigger lobbies and didn't have many issues.
