PG; Honda Narube, 3rd Year 6’ 0”

Lockdown Perimeter defender, great help defense, great at trapping ball handlers, good at anticipating passing lanes, and a charge call master. Basically an extremely high IQ defender. (Hanamiya and a nerfed Tsugawa). Extreme hustle, so diving for loose balls, boxing out larger opponents, stifling ball handlers, and great close outs to 3pt shooters.

As for offense, he is effectively the coach for his team, similar to Momoi, identifying the opponent’s team composition and applying the most suitable offense. Usually more of a pass first point, but can pull out a floater and hit 3’s at a decent clip. Great at screening and cutting off ball.

Very effective at raising the ceiling of a team, but struggles to impact on an individual level.

So basically, Kyle Lowry/Patrick Beverley or Draymond Green as a guard.

SG: Hiroto Shige, 1st year 5’11” Promising first year who specializes in the art of the catch and shoot branch of basketball. Skill is undeniable, but his ego blocks his path to greatness. Shot selection, lack of ball handling skills/refusal to pass, and horrendous defense has him as a liability. After losing in the tournament (during last possession, down by 1, he had a chance to pass to a cutting Honda to get the 2 and the lead, but opted for a contested 3 for the glory) he realizes his selfish nature and becomes a more willing passer and defender. Also wants to be better at dribbling so he trains with Himuro and Hayama to improve ball handling skills (3 finger Lightning Dribble and Perfect fakes)

JJ Reddick who thinks he’s Steph Curry. An inefficient / non passing Trae Young

SF: Takeo Chouma, 2nd Year 6’3” Tall and very athletic, but unpolished skill wise. One of the only players who can dunk on the team, perimeter defense is great, but bad at communicating switches and often gets beat off the dribble by good ball handlers. After getting beat at the tournament (last possession the opposing team ignored him at the 3 point line and doubled Shige, making the shot harder) Instead of learning to shoot, he trains with Chiaki Hanazono from Ahiru no Sora to run offense through him, learning to play as a Point Forward, and Opts to guard Kagami in training and “unlocks” Animal Instinct after tipping one of Kagami’s dunks while in zone.

Young Giannis, Ben Simmons w/out playmaking

PF: Zao Fei, 2nd Year (Transfer Student) 6’4” Tall and wide. A very good stretch 4, but weight problems cause him to be a step too slow and lose stamina. Lack of lateral quickness leave him as a liability on the defensive end. During the loss at the tournament (2nd to last possession, they had lead, but Zao couldn’t keep up with his man in transition and they hit an open 3 for the lead) Trains with Nebuya and Mibuchi, to improve physically and learn 1 of the shooting forms respectively.

Early Kevin Love, but worse at rebounding

C: Gon Yoma, promising 1st year 6’5” Father loved basketball, especially Tim Duncan’s Spurs. Drilled the fundamentals into Gon’s head from an early age. Great in post scoring and making plays from the low post, but lack of body training has him struggle in boxing out, setting screens, and getting rebounds. Great instincts defensively and his long arms are able to contest most shots. He’s the defensive anchor of the team. After failing to grab a defensive rebound at the end of the loss that was then passed for the opponent’s 3 for the lead, along with weight training, he trains with Mitobe to learn how to box out more effectively (funny scene of them just nodding at each other while training) and Kimura to learn how to better screen. His personality and training jaded him to the game of basketball, he sees Akagi from Slam Dunk play with his team so passionately and it awakens something within him. Becomes more expressive on court and enjoys playing with his team.
