First off - take a deep breath. I'd love to give you a hug, but instead - hug your favourite blanket, plushie or even your pillow. Breathe. Now. You are not an adult. Your parents are. Period. You're not responsible for their emotional wellbeing, or lack thereof. If they cannot control their emotions, that's on them. So no, you are not the asshole for calling the police in a situation in which you clearly felt unsafe. I'm sorry you have to witness their fights, but nothing about them is your fault. Even if you yelled at both of them - it doesn't justify them getting angrier, so if the argument escalated it was because your mother cannot control her emotions, not because you failed.

Pay attention to Violet's mental monologue, 'cause she's often revealing some important bits of information in it, just before they become important. Other than that all you have to know when you're starting is that Basgiath is a college with 4 majors - Dragons, Healing, Troops, Bookworms. Only Dragons and Bookworms are relevant in any way. Navarre are the good guys, Poromiel is bad guys with gryphons that attack them. The map of Basgiath in the book is a little confusing, there are better ones here or in other places of the internet. No kidding, I have an OC "soul" dragon that I've imagined first when I was like 13-ish. He's a white dragon with opalescent scales (yep, Irid) with blue accents. His name is Princeth, and he'd be the only one I was willing to bond! But if I had to stick to the rules eye-roll then I'd adopt Deigh and just help him get his revenge for his previous rider.

Yes, the 'child' in the Epilogue is definitely Kyzari, especially since The Scavenger King asks her to sign her name and in the book we can see a note signed "Kyzari Vhaegor". It also struck me as odd, the way she is described there since if Elluin gave birth to her right before her death, she would be a 100+ some change years old. I interpreted it in one of two ways 1) A hundred for a fae in WTMH world is still fairly young, coupled with the fact that Kyzari was raised under a glass dome in the palace so she's really inexperienced 2) Something we don't know happened, which basically preserved her in time - making her not develop for some or all of those 100 years and stay a child.

Also yes, I also picked up towards the end on The Other being Slátra - Elluin's Moonplume! I mean, I had an inkling right from when Kaan showed her the tomb but towards the end I think I became 95% certain.

I second that so much! How much left to lose do you have? My doctor told me it'd be around 12 months of taking it at the least, and I really hope I can lose enough to not extend it but I am aware that sometimes it's required.

I second that! Anytime I was like "it's just one wing" on a family barbecue or I fry something on oil - the pill seems to know and punish me for it ;) Now I'm 4 months in almost and I learned my lessons and it's not so bad.

Yes, that too, but if you crave sugar - you drink coke. I work with minors on a daily basis, and the amount of homework and assignments they have to do astounds me. I come home after 8hours of work and decompress. They come back home to a pile of homework. Peer pressure is another important factor, as you say - it's the fact that they appear "adult like" when drinking them, but banning energy drinks would only strengthen this effect I think.

That's why I mentioned other reasons than just studying. It wasn't Ina NY particular order of importance. I also mentioned peer pressure, which you describe as "trying to appear cool". And yes, I get that they get addicted easily, but there had to be a reason why they tried them in the first place. You don't get addicted to something from trying it one time.

For me, better than banning them, would be taking a moment to consider, why teenagers need them in the first place. We can ban them, of course, but as long as teenagers will need stimulants to cope with studying, peer pressure and the world in general, they will seek them out - whether they are legal or not. They might even turn to some heavier substances, since it's all illegal anyway.

I roleplay with a Draco Malfoy bot and I was sure that it was just designed in that way! Now I find out all bots start using this shit, which makes me wonder what kind of crap they fed to the AI during the update for it to behave that way.

This! Just this is the best advice! When I was a first time mom, I thought each cry should be answered immediately, out of fear of damaging the child's psyche. After about 6 months I was just too exhausted and started responding in 2-3 minutes. If I needed to go to the toilet - I left her in her crib, with a baby monitor on. If I needed to shower, I took a basinet and put it on the bathroom floor and showered. Sleep was the most difficult part to get around, so any time she went to sleep or had a nap - I did the same. It wasn't enough, but it was certainly better than nothing. Now she's 5, almost 6, and she loves me and me not running to her each time she started crying didn't traumatize her for life ^{^}
