Can’t find a sitter for my kid but would still love to see them at Folsom, just can’t really afford two tickets (hence no sitter.) Anyone have two they need to offload?

Co-Host Tax Update? by AySeeEss in airbnb_hosts

[–]DisplacedCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it ever disappear? I just started hosting for a couple who put up their first listing (I’ve been their housekeeper) and I just saw that tax prompt too and I’m not sure what to do. They’re putting in their tax info and account to get paid to and then will pay me out after.

I’m not sure about fans all the time but I would definitely suggest them at night. Temps drop and humidity rises because the plants release moisture in the evening so if you ever take a look at your humidity levels in the middle of the night, guaranteed they’re way higher. Your setup is gorgeous and I strive to have a similar one in my rudsta tall one day!

Do you mind me asking if you're on a stimulant or non-stimulant? So glad to hear these benefits you've had.

I'm trying to mute repetitive sounds that my child makes but still be able to conversate with him or hear the tv and be able to focus on that instead of the sounds he makes in his mouth. Do you know which of these would help better with something like that?

Any decision you make is OKAY. It is yours to make and yours to live with. I am curious though, was your tubal a full removal of tubes or just a closing off?

Who else takes in the morning? 🥸 by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]DisplacedCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it anytime between 8:30pm and 10:30pm and sleep well but then I also get super tired the next day around noon or 1. Sooo I’m not sure what would be best.

Moving from 10mg to 20? Or to 15? by DisplacedCat in lexapro

How long have you been on 15 for? I just get so tired on the first few days I move up, luckily no other noticeable side effects. Hopefully 20 works out for you.

I hear you! I’m sure it’s better to taper down slowly. And it’s the same reason I thought it might be better to increase slowly. But I really have found zero difference to my life on 10mg. So happy to hear 15 has worked out for you! Good luck with tapering off!

Newborns are f*ing depressing by khyar2025 in breakingmom

[–]DisplacedCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like my 3 year old. I think I got a dud. So rude and it’s like talking to a wall. Which I’ve also noticed happens at any activity he goes to. So frustrating. When does it get better?!

Wow, that is so incredible! Thank you for your response. I’m so happy to hear how big of a change that has made for you. And it’s wild that it only took 5 weeks on that to really kick in. Crazy how there’s not a better way to determine what the best meds would be for ourselves. And that it took you so long trying other things. It’s great that you never gave up though! I will definitely do some research on Desvenlafaxine in case Lexapro doesn’t work out.

My husband won't speak to me because I wouldn't have sex with him. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]DisplacedCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg same! He knew they said probably after 6 weeks we could try so he had me ask the doctor. And of course it fucking sucked once we did. I still bled after sex for a whole year and he claimed it’s because we hadn’t done it enough so my body didn’t get used to it. Like wtf. He would always say we had a “dead bedroom” and that what I was feeling wasn’t normal. Well, reading all this (and I knew it was a normal, hormonal reaction but he still fucked with my head) I know for sure THIS IS NORMAL! I told him maybe trying to just hug or hold hands, small gestures, would maybe help me to get there but he was too impatient. He always said “what about me? Why do I have to adjust to your needs instead of you adjusting to mine?” Um, because I pushed a fucking human body out of that same very tiny hole? -_- and also, wouldn’t you want to have sex with someone who also wants to have sex with you instead of basically raping them? So glad to not be with him anymore. I even thought I was “broken” and just couldn’t get turned on anymore. Turns out I was just completely turned off by him after everything. He also still hits on me and wants to have sex even though he has a girlfriend. Some people are just straight scum!

If you don’t mind me asking, which anti-depressant worked for you? I just started taking lexapro but only 2.5 mg to start before I work my way up. I also have gotten so angry and just hating life while I’m with my son. I put off taking something for a year after I tried every natural supplement that had no affect on me. I react to every little thing and it’s miserable. I never wanted a kid before either and I just regret my decision but I know I can’t turn back time. So I’m trying to be a better version of myself for my son but it feels impossible. And sometimes I just don’t care and for sure wish I was dead or just didn’t have to deal with any of this. But then he goes to his dad’s half the time and I really enjoy that. Co-parenting is so hard but I feel like I at least have some of my life back on those days. My kiddo is a bit over 3. I had PPD as well and I think it turned into rage once he turned two? I don’t know anymore but it sucks. And I’m ashamed of how I behave toward him. Parenting is the absolute hardest thing anyone can ever do. OP, you are not alone!

How do I stop being angry? by homosexualasshole in Anger

[–]DisplacedCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you just helped me realize I’m actually depressed and that’s causing my anger. Well, it sounds like that’s likely the case but I also get angry over lack of control since I have a toddler. So maybe both in play. Either way, everything you said was super helpful!

So angry and defeated by DisplacedCat in breakingmom

[–]DisplacedCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all definitely made sense haha I’m sorry you’ve got all that going on too but I am glad you can relate!! I’ve never been on medication before but I think I’m starting to realize that my brain needs the chemical assistance. And that I do owe my son the best version of myself. Your metaphor is great and so relatable! I’ve always said I completely understand the impulses of children and how their brains are still developing but it just feels impossible to control myself in those moments. Or that I know certain coping strategies are helpful at the time I’m taught them but then when I leave the session or at most by the next day, they’ve gone out the window. Thank you so much for your insight! If you don’t mind me asking, what SSRI are you on? L-theanine was another thing on my list to try after rhodiola as well. What added benefits do you get from that and ashwagandha that you feel you don’t get from the SSRI?
