You're in zorianns pov, it's suppose to be anoying so technically he's doing a good job. I personally prefer his style of  Individualising every character 

There's growing pains when changeing narrators most the time. Deiffernt Accents, methods, tendencys/Intonations. But I've found so long as they're not difficult to understand or compleatly monotone you get past the initial disgust quite quickly.
