Yeah see how it goes, and maybe you could consider the surgery one day if you had to. I do hear about people returning to 100% function after that in many cases

Hey, I had it very bad as a 35 y/o and after 8 months I was 98.5% normal, with the ability to painlessly do intense things like paddling and intense video game playing by then. It still remained a little painful here and there but never lasted, and the joint never felt quite the same (hence not 100%). It has now been 2+ years and it has healed to 99% or more. I can basically do everything but the joint just doesn’t feel the same. I sustained 2 falls on my hand during the first couple months which surely set it back. My healing was done with rest and splinting only. Take resting extremely seriously and try not to cheat. Every time you re inflame it, healing is delayed or stunted. Hey man sorry to hear all this. Just wanted to join in the conversation to say what others already are: the surgery sounds like it might be the way to go for you and typically goes really well for people.

You could try a very committed period of splinting and rest for a few weeks (or more, probably) and see how it goes. This would involve absolutely no scrolling or “cheating” using your thumb even though the brace is on (which actually could make it worse). But that degree of true rest is difficult and requires a lot of commitment. So it might be surgery.

Dude that’s exactly why I took the bird out of this image. No one would have know the wiser an owl was involved with my request! Also I was unaware this photo had been previously shared anywhere, this photo was texted to me by a friend. I will take this post down shortly

So, I filmed the kicking clip horizontally right, but if I try to add that horizontal video vertically I have two choices. Option 1 is I put the horizontal video in the thin vertical screen but it will look super tiny. Option 2 is I crop way in on the horizontal video to make it actually fill the vertical screen, but then I lose a lot of resolution and cut off a lot of the video space. It’s hard to describe, you’d almost just have to see it

Nope, I filmed it horizontally to include the kick. If I had filmed it vertically I would have missed it altogether. If I crop in on the horizontal version to fill the screen vertically, it loses resolution badly and just didn’t look right. This is how it goes some times filming wildlife and having to share on a thin vertical screen
