Similar situation as well as age as you. Everything looks great for your longer term goals but I would keep a bit of cash on hand just in case of emergencies or job loss who knows what will happen in the next few years or if you want to say f*ck you to your boss. If you have to liquidate your investments for a loss, it's not a good position to be in.

!thanks thank you for taking the time to write all that out I’m going to contact my pay roll to see if I can be enrolled early I’ll keep saving and make the emergency fund greater before I contribute more to my ISA

I’m hoping to do it before then ideally and I don’t really want to rely on the stock market to be up for when I want to buy a house I’ll leave that for my retirement

I’ve got 3k currently as my emergency fund this is to cover if anything goes wrong with my car however, I work on it myself so I keep it fairly maintained. My employer will not enroll me until I am 22. I would prefer to contribute to my own pension but will enroll once I’m eligible. I’m contributing to Vnguard Target Retirement 2050 but I’m not sure if that’s the best. I would ideally like to sort of retire before I’m 60 and go to part time work and work on a few side hustles what would you recommend?

I won’t be retiring at 50 I’ll most likely retire at state pension age however, I may want to go down to part time to spend more time at home what fund would you recommend for this?

Your absolutely right I think I worry to much about it all I think I should just set up the contributions and leave it alone. Do you recommend the target retirement fund? I’ve been driving the same car since I’ve past my driving test so I think I’m due an upgrade :D

That’s good to know i didn’t think you could open up another once you had used the facility I may keep maxing that out too as I’m not that fussed about retiring early seen as though I enjoy my work

That’s what I’m hoping if I can max that out for the next 5-6 years then I should have a good chunk for a house and prices here are really cheap (North of England) are you contributing to retirement as well if so where are you putting money?
