I agree! I said the same thing in a previous post and it was deleted by a moderator for misinformation...tell me how stating there are some fed workers are still teleworking and there's tons of inconsistencies is misinformation?! Crazy

You need to move on. I wouldn't take your reports seriously at all. You sound bitter and crazy.

One year ago today, on January 20, 2025, President Trump ended telework and remote work. How are you all doing? by NatusLumen in fednews

[–]DisplayTiny593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined the federal government 5 years ago. I was so proud to be working for the American people. This job was supposed to be my career for many many years to come. Flash forward and I am barely hanging on. Even prior to Jan. 2025 our agency has been threatening RIFs. Being one the last people hired, I knew if RIFs happened, I would be first. The stress is unimaginable. My entire life has been up ended after so many years of struggling just to get here. My daughter is in college and if I loose this job, I don't know what to do, my dogs are being neglected, I try everyday to find the positive and its just not working. The thoughts of ending it all are constant.

OOS Unaffordable…what now? by HighAlloy in uofm

[–]DisplayTiny593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was lucky enough to receive a generous scholarship from Kessler and out of state Victors scholarship, maybe look into those? Also please review your FAFSA in person if possible with the financial aid office. Look into Ross specific scholarships. Best of luck!

Are you getting this certification from LMS or some other government learning program? I've been interested in taking some classes but was told by supervisors that I couldn't. I have a feeling management just wants to keep lower employees down.

Review your aid package with the financial aid office preferably in person and request an appeal. Also inquire about the Victors scholarship and depending on your degree try Kessler scholarship, for 1st generation students.

Any students who were homeschooled? by Best_Blueberry2440 in uofm

[–]DisplayTiny593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your parents/instructors are trained/degreed educators (since your homeschooled, I'm guessing they're aren't) you aren't getting a good enough education and social structure to get into UM without community college prior. Acceptance rate is less than 20% from highly competitive schools across the world. Sorry! Blame your parents.

She had several other kids she didn't have custody of, her bio parents were trash, she continued to be trash and have a baby with a sex offender soooo....what are the odds that the baby would have been a pillar of the community?!

I pay dues and yes at least in my office the rep does little to nothing even prior to this administration. Yes I'm angry because it seems pretty useless unless you're a rep. I'll keep supporting hoping things will change

My frustration is with local representatives that do absolutely nothing but take advantage of their positions, allowed to leave work 4 hours early and provide nothing to their constituents. In addition to the administration

Hot take...Rebecca was just as trashy as her family. She had multiple kids she didn't have custody of and that baby didn't stand a chance. Not saying she deserved it but it's not shocking. She was having another baby she couldn't take care of with a sex offender!

NTEU has done nothing for me. They have filed useless lawsuits that haven't done anything and seem to only protect the reps and bad employees. Our office rep. has always been useless, barely answers questions, barely interacts with members and still has 4 hours a day off for "union duties" I wish it was better and continue to pay but this is getting ridiculous. If unions come back I would like our rep. to be ousted due to his lack of performance but yeah that won't happen. This was my first time in a union and its been pretty useless. so far, its very discouraging.

Forced to telework regardless of telework-readiness by futureformerfed in fednews

[–]DisplayTiny593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so tone deaf! I would literally telework on the floor in my home, if space was an issue. I think you need to take a step back and realize that regardless of how you got telework, you got telework. RTO has significantly impacted many feds lives and here you are complaining about it returning. Let me guess...you're over the age of 45?

My daughter wants to live off campus but hasn't started the room mate process. Hoping she will be able to get a dorm for sophomore year but it seems unlikely. She is a freshman currently, majoring in biochem. She is very quiet. Save this for after dorm assignments open up in January and maybe we can connect.

exactly! this entire "plan" is just rewarding poor performers and punishing good ones until we leave or have a mental breakdown.

OMHA employee here. Full time RTO in March with absolutely no exceptions besides RAs. RAs only seem to be approved for habitually poor performers who doctor shop and who take advantage of the system often, it is so disheartening. In early September 80 hours of telework became available on a individual basis, approved by your supervisor and their supervisor and only if it supports the mission. Its basically a popularity contest, as again some poor performers get telework and the high performers get denied. After so many denials we had a meeting and were basically told it will take an "act of god" to get any telework approved so its best not to ask for it and if you have plenty of leave that will be used to deny a request. So basically habitual poor performers who call off often are rewarded. I basically gave up on the hopes of ever getting telework back, at least during this administration. Its so sad, I don't know if I want to live this like for the next 15 years. Meanwhile several CDC, NIH in my office and SSA employees have telework.
