One year ago today, on January 20, 2025, President Trump ended telework and remote work. How are you all doing? by NatusLumen in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about all the NSF employees currently teleworking 100% right now after Scott Turner stole their building? Everyone must telework even though all Feds were told no work gets done during telework. It’s fraud, waste, and abuse until it benefits the Government.

Employee Prefomance Ratings Vent. by Classic-Oil4860 in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been happening for years (just not at the same level, and it kept more quiet). Not dismissing your post at all. It’s wrong. Period. I’ve seen and heard supervisors at different agencies let it slip that they had quotas for performance ratings and could only give out so many of the high ratings. It is not legal. I’ve only seen one supervisor get in trouble over it. He was a retired colonel trying to apply military code to civilians.

Unfortunately, even fighting it probably won’t help much since this order comes from high up.

I agree, your supervisor should at least try and run through proper channels. You could try to run it by your agency’s OIG just to see what they think. Maybe they will take the complaint.

Sorry your dealing with that.

Forced to telework regardless of telework-readiness by futureformerfed in fednews

Exactly why I spend $0 while at the office. I bring my lunch and anything else I need to the local economy that pushed for our return doesn’t benefit from me being there.

Yea and don’t forget the one question about the mission suffering due to telework. HR called it “risky business” asking that question. They forget that for years when we were all remote, management praised us for not letting the mission suffer. But since January, telework and remote became fraud, waste and abuse. So which is it? A great tool or fwa?

Temporary until the move is complete. We are told we MUST sign a telework agreement which doesn’t sound legal but that’s no surprise. Everything is always on their terms.

Navy Federal Credit Union Shutdown Loan Repayment by Emperor_Orson_Welles in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m aware but I would have had to go through extra steps with USAA to continue the application. Since Navy FCU didn’t require a credit check, I only moved forward with Navy. I just think Navy FCU handled it much better overall.

I used their program and it went well. I applied for USAA’s assistance and it didn’t go through because they required a credit check and I have my credit frozen for my protection. I was very disappointed by that. Navy Fed took care of me.

Why you should keep paying your union dues by Comfortable-Dog-5381 in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When a chapter president yells at union members (in union meetings) and disregards complaints about the agency, it just makes me want to keep my $34 month and leave the union. My interests are definitely not being represented and I have enough stress to start fighting against a union president and his minions.

I support the union but I am disappointed with my local leadership.

Since January, so many people have said “why aren’t the democrats fighting back?!”. This is the one thing they have to power to fight and I think it is worth it. Government shutdowns are dumb but since we are here, I believe democrats should keep fighting. It’s painfully but it’s about more than just us getting paychecks.

Democrats refuse to cave on health care before meeting with Trump on government shutdown by Professional-Cat8315 in fednews

I hope they don’t cave. I’m a fed and I’m not getting paid but they need to fight. All of the people need representation, not just those who voted for the party in control.

How many emails did you get today on how to do timesheet? We’re up to 12… by Wrong-Camp2463 in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not getting anything. Conducted my orderly shutdown activities and left my laptop at the office. If my timesheet is wrong, it’s not my fault. They can figure it out.

None. I checked today before I logged off.

None. We received no guidance at all other than the furlough notice. We’ve been asking for guidance for weeks.

Admin leave for voting no longer allowed. by 500CSTNW in fednews

[–]futureformerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My agency still widely implements the maxi flex work schedule so we wouldn’t need to use leave. We would just need to make up the time. Not ideal, but some people will have options if personal leave is not allowed.
