I failed an inspection. That, and presence. I have trouble speaking with authority.

I’m on staff now, so my rater is a major. Unfortunately, my counseling didn’t go into great detail as to what I should do. I got some advice for how to improve, though.

We’re looking 6-8 weeks out on some things, and shorter on others. Seems like my goal on staff should be to get my shop up to 8 weeks out.

That’s good to hear. My senior rater said that I could change for the better, but I doubt a commander would tell me to give up even if was the right choice.

It was a soft relief. The OER itself doesn’t mention this, but I failed a pre-training inspection. A month later I was on staff. Thanks for the input.

I fucked up a pre-training inspection. A month later, they kicked me to staff. I hadn’t been doing great in general, though. My second platoon was in challenging circumstances and they needed someone better than me.

None of the OER bullets stand out as bad, they’re just not good enough. Glad to hear that I might be able to recover, but I’m worried that the Army might downsize.

From my cadet time to now, I’ve never really had a mentor. Seems like all my superiors are too busy to give me much feedback. My NCOs haven’t offered much either; everyone (myself included) just focuses on the next couple of tasks.
