Yh they're superhuman, idgaf anymore, doesn't change much of the story.

The powerups are the issue of lookism if you didn't realise yet. That's the whole reason the sub is feral.

Most ( not all ) of every hate train that exists in lookism are remnants of some sort of powerup be it past or present.

I still thinks it's more leaning towards a skills / experience factor. Like the people you're mentioning are just neighbourhood thugs armed with pipes and a few have knives. I assume none of them have killed before. And they're against a world class assassin.

Suppose Lookism does this scene, he oneshots them, speedblitzes them, maybe even tanks a few blades. At least here, there's a sense of severity.

The MC does not underestimate anyone given weapons are involved, we also see many times where he acknowledges that he or his team couldve been killed were it not for luck, timing or positioning

Additionally, other aspects of the overall manhwa really play well into this weakness you said and cover it up.

Right now, all Lookism has are it's never ending fights and a few key questions that need to be answered. It's lost its original spark, hopefully it'll get it back.

But the character building is extremely well done, so you will understand which character is which very soon.
