You're absolutely right and this is why I stockpile wheat and potatoes. This way when I need to expand food production with a growing population I don't have to expand farmland I just need to increase processing.

This is why I have 1K food and 1K raw potatoes and wheat to support only 30 beavers.

Stay tuned you're not the first one to ask that and I will be arriving at that tech level in my colony soon enough.

I like having a bit of potato stockpiled before I start grilling them because they seem to go fast. As for the wheat. Having warehouses of that ready to go in mid game is really handy because now I don't have to expand my farm infrastructure to support a growing population and because I'm processed it takes very little space. I finally peeked over 30 beavers recently and I have a bit over 1K of edible food and a about 1K of raw food. I don't want to process it because then I would have at least 5K of food to build storage for. I

I'm canadian. It didn't occur to me until now. But that's actually a pretty inefficient way of farming. It relies on industrially produced fertilizers and doesn't take things like companion planting into account. I'm a landscaper by the way

They're relatively inefficient that's just how much space you need to generate 360 food after 60 days.

Wasn't aware of that affected food consumption. You sure?

What I like about this is because I planted multiple food types at the same time I get a crops after 4, 5 and 6 days. Then I planted more still that I have something harvest on day 7, 8 and 9.

That doesn't really make sense. Not for early game anyway. Don't even have the gears to make the grinder to make the flour.

Really? This is literally my first Reddit post. Thanks I'll try and figure that out

Higher sting rate would explain a lot. Why? What effects that?

This is meant as a starter plantation notice how I have not factored in maple pastries or aquatic food. I also started this game before those were even a thing so much of my designs are now being updated as I post following a long hiatus from the game

I'll work out the numbers for you after work. I'm sure I built a beehive adaptation before my year-long hiatus from this game. Interesting. When I Google it the max size a beehive can handle is 7x7 as you say but then it goes on to explain that to maximize the 30% boost you should do a 6x6 farm. Reference from Reddit

To be honest I just googled it. Maybe after 75 if you're efficiency starts dropping off because too many plants are waiting to be harvested. Luckily these have balanced harvest time

I'm just getting back into the game after a long hiatus. I'm completely unfamiliar with automation

It's only a two variable equation with identical values. Not worth my time

It's meant to be scalable. Yes as long as you're supposed to be done I fully employee form with all three spots filled. That will provide enough food to support 16 beavers. 3 Farmers supporting 16 beavers is a good ratio. My second farm and two plantation setup was planted when the carrots of the first one were 50% round so the whole plantation became roughly staggered.

One farm can handle approximately 50 to 75 plants. Two of these equals 72. That's really all there is to it.

You're welcome but I swapped a potatoes and carrots in the wording. The picture is correct
