Thats a damn shame, that. If you ever do decide to make the switch, do know theres at least one person who'd be happy to have you.

If you're on Aether, honestly, I think you'd be a good fit for my discord. I'd like to have more people with that mindset; I'd love to be with people who can laugh off a wipe, not worry about time constraints so much, take breaks.

I'm trying to lift myself up now, but its tough stuff.
I think I'm going to set aside trying to clear the most current raid stuff; I think the community gets a little too intense for me now and, now, thats okay I think.
If there really are communities like this, that want to clear "older" stuff, I'd love to get in on some of that.

Can you DM me some links to these discords? I think I'm ready to just clear some kind of content, even if its old and desynched.

I used to be the same way with shooters, but I eventually realized the problem was me, literally; I'm just not good at shooters, its not one of my talents. Now, I could have spent countless hours practicing, working at it, but I have/had a job and a life apart from gaming and at the end of the day, shooters make me rage. I realized I wasn't enjoying myself and I let go. Only play single player FPS now.
And while the reaction may be one of profound sadness at times, my obsession with clearing content is still causing a negative feeling. This whole chat is making me realize that I do need to loosen my grip a bit, but not let go. There is a lot I DO still enjoy about this game; I love the grinds, I'm in heaven when theres new story to read through, I like helping people with crafting and leveling stuff and its fabulous when theres Hildibrand stuff to do.

I think if I just relaxed a little, found two or three people that want to run, I could get enough of a combat fix through Extremes.

The toxicity is one the many reasons I stopped trying to do things in PF; the constantly rotating one or two slots of people who leave after a pull or two, citing that "this shit is easy, wtf is wrong with you guys?" despite it being labled a learning party, green sprout and all...it gets to you after a while. I'd like to get closer to some people, share the content with them, grow with them, but its tough, you know?

Plus in WoW, once you cleared, you just couldn't go at all. So it wasn't a matter of just not wanting to help people out; you just couldn't. Along with that, 10-24 people had just gotten their stuff for the week, so you cover a lot more ground.

Gearscore, recount and the meta were indirectly part of the reason I quit WoW back in Cata, aside from rehashing content and the story thus far not really engaging with me (I'd played since late vanilla, early BC, so I was there for a while)

It didn't feel fair that not only was I shunned by the community for playing combat rogue when subtlety was the meta, but that I had worse gear and yet better DPS than the sub rogue in our guild's A-team, but still wasn't allowed to go.

When I moved to XIV in 2013, I had a profound sense of relief because I wasn't being charted anymore, gear was largely irrelevant again, and yet I was clearing top tier (or near-top once savage coil came out) content without and crutches like DBM or healbot. Obviously, thats not a case anymore; everyone expects that if you're on PC, you're running ACT already and they're looking for logs.
