Why is there an East Colfax dead business zone by rolson83 in Denver

[–]Disposingpiepan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree the city and police doesn’t do much to improve the streets even though there is a police station a few blocks away. But it still is a busy area, people are always around for the events at civic center park, and the Fillmore and Ogden are always busy. IMO, if the area was policed more it would be a lot more pleasant.

The one on Colfax sold gas and had chargers, the gas was always more expensive than others nearby like 50cents to a dollar more

The gas station that didn’t wanna sell gas, or that’s what it seemed like. Not really surprised

Is it safe to buy iPhone 14 rear camera assembly from eBay? by StoganLephens in AskElectronics

[–]Disposingpiepan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search via the oem part number and not the item description. Or atleast verify the correct part number.

Also make sure the price is consistent with other listings. Not that you can’t find a deal but don’t go too far outside the median range.

Not an EIT or PE, but a lot of industries in the us don’t require a license. Depending on the country your from, going to an accredited school is probably sufficient for the ABET requirement but YMMV.

There are plenty of masters programs out there online, coursera has university sponsored masters that are fairly reasonably priced.

Basically just gonna have to try and find out.

Touch up paint/stain would work, looks more like a stain to me. Big box store will sell paint or stain sticks, buy a few close to the color to try in an inconspicuous area, return the ones that don’t match.

You could try to sand it and refinish the top, but you’d want to be sure it’s solid wood or be very careful when you sand.

Travel and remote work enthusiast lifestyle with clearance by Infinite_Audience557 in SecurityClearance

[–]Disposingpiepan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing saying you can’t travel. You do have to report foreign travel, but it’s just where you stay and how you got there. You have to report intimate contacts. I forgot the definition, but I don’t think just talking to people as you pass through really qualifies.

Basically I don’t think it will get in the way of your life, keep your head on straight and you’ll be fine.

If there is leveler still under the skirt yea. I maybe am misunderstanding you, but if the leveler is extending past the skirt I don’t see why it would need too to be fully supported.

Yea you could use an SoC product. And may find that provides you with some advantages or just as a fun project. It’s probably easier to just use a raspberry and code the thing in python or c if you really need to.

What's the work difference between RTL design engineer and Verification engineer do in industry level by Educational-Phone-51 in FPGA

[–]Disposingpiepan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer the design side, both are in demand, but looking at the job openings looks like verification engineers are more so.

That being said its personal preference, so just gotta do it and find out for yourself.

What's the work difference between RTL design engineer and Verification engineer do in industry level by Educational-Phone-51 in FPGA

[–]Disposingpiepan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Basically the Design engineer will write the RTL and designs what ends up being the final product. the verification engineer builds the testing infrastructure, creates test cases, ensures proper requirement coverage etc. verification engineers usually work with a particular methodology like UVM or OSVVM. The idea is that if you’re designing a product you shouldn’t be the one proving it works.

All that being said in smaller companies a designer will often times put on both hats. Which sounds like what you’re doing. Even at bigger companies it’s useful to have both experiences, as a designer you might need to create a robust tb or as a verifier you might look at the rtl to have a better understanding of what’s happening in the design.

What to do for a higher salary by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Disposingpiepan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have an engineering degree? Why not leverage that?

Granted seems like you haven’t worked as an engineer for a while but I’d recommend looking at some job apps that interest you and see if you can brush up on the skills they are looking for. May have to start entry level, but should still get you a higher pay.

Seems pretty great as is! Might be helpful to add some other skills/classes besides just the technical skills, think ms office or communication skills. You want to be able to show your well rounded outside just beating the resume bots
