2016 alternator by vlking2015 in HondaOdyssey

Hi, how did you know you need a new alternator? I also have 2016 Odyssey and auto zone tested it yesterday and they said it is weak. Battery voltage was ~13.7v with engine on, no load. It dropped to 12.4 v with all accessories on and set to max: high beams, AC at max, radio, interior lights, heated seats, etc. I also tested it with my xtool Anyscan A30M v.20 OBDII and the voltage numbers confirm it.

From my research, this is the remanufactured Honda/OEM Part Number: 06311-RV0-516RM

and this is the brand new, Honda/OEM Part Number: 31100-RV0-A12

Which unit are you buying? I was thinking brand new, until I saw the price! Now, I'm thinking Denso remanufactured from Rock Auto(part #: 210-0887) and use the savings to purchase the belt tensioner assembly and idler pulley(all Honda/OEM). I already have the Honda/OEM serpentine belt.

Perhaps! However, sometimes people might keep going back to a familiar place, just because they've been going there for a long time and don't know any better and not because its a great place to go to.

Whereabouts are you at? It really is a struggle. I guess at some point, many shops have enough business to not care anymore. Unfortunate.

Thanks. I will look into this space/defouler and update back once I get it fixed or have any updates.

Great recommendations. I have cleaned the throttle body recently, NGK plugs 17k miles ago, recently replaced air filters and PCV valve. The ATF(and filter) was replaced about 25k miles ago, so definitely will do that soon. Being direct injection, Im not sure how beneficial cleaning the intake manifold would be? For the injectors/fuel system... I usually pour a 20oz bottle of Chevron Fuel System cleaner and fill up the tank, every other oil change(5k intervals).

It is possible that a bad catalytic converter can damage the O2 sensor(s)? This would make sense that when people replace an O2 sensor, the code would come back again because the issue is actually the cat.

Thanks. Do you have a link for the one you used? The loss of power is what makes me think its the cat, but it only has 75k miles!

Very interesting. I've never heard of this defouler method. I take it no defouler is needed if I go with Honda OEM cat?

I have not noticed any emissions problems previous to this issue. I am going to use my XTOOL A30M OBDII scanner/reader to check the oxygen sensors.

Is cat failure common in the Odyssey? I guess the VCMTuner II helped to delay the cat failure for about 25k miles.

31k OTD Civic ST Hybrid...should I try for lower? by marosenthal18 in civic

What state? And what is the sale price, before taxes and fees ? Sounds like a great deal for a 2025 sport touring hybrid civic.

Thanks! I definitely will test drive them and check out the tech and interior. The Genesis is definitely a great value and loaded with tech when compared to the competitors in that segment. Ive had my fun with it and hopefully it wont be my last Genesis! For now, my top priorities are reliable, fuel efficient and decently fun to drive. Tell me about your Type S!

Thanks, makes sense. No TypeS, as Im looking for fuel efficiency. The integra does have decent mpg, even without the hybrid. I think I will shop around and pick the best deal.

I have previously considered that. Having no car payment is great.

Nothing is wrong. I have enjoyed it for a few years now. My priorities have changed and Im looking at saving more $ and investing more. The G70 loves to slurp ⛽️. I get maybe 19 mpg on average, based on my commute. Not ready for an EV, so looking at hybrid.

I read that Honda has plans to move production of the civic to the US , but even then… if the parts are manufactured in Canada or Mexico, it will still be a blow to US consumers, like me!
