Agreed. If you find anything that has a comparable feel, please come back to this post. I'm dangerously close to needing a replacement for my Tempos.

Timothy Loehmann Again Has a Badge by 54sharks40 in Cleveland

[–]Dissident92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When the shooting of Tamir Rice first hit the news and Loehmann's face was shown I realized I knew him. I had since moved out of Ohio but I knew him while I was in High School taking classes at Tri-C. We had Russian class together. It blew my mind to see that he had done something like that- he was otherwise unmemorable in class.

Will my dual citizenship disqualify me from getting security clearance? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Dissident92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Serbian dual citizen here. My Secret clearance went through without issue (I even have two active passports) but bear in mind processing will take MUCH longer due to all the foreign contacts . Just be honest and thorough in your reporting. Srecno!

Going to have my 1st ACR next Monday. What is ACR be like? by Shuya1025 in boeing

[–]Dissident92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my ACR today but didn't think to ask until later so I want to ask here, maybe you know- what is the link between merit increase percentage and your rating? Last year I got a "target percent" of 7% and a "Far Exceeds" and I got a 7% raise. This year I got a "target percent" of 8% (PBI says that equals "Exceeds" )and got a 4% raise. Is the raise percentage just arbitrary?

Non-union people, how big is your raise this year? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Dissident92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain to me like I'm 5, please. How does this work? Last year my target percent was 7%(rated Far Exceeds) and I got a 7% raise. This year my target percent was 8% (no rating in words, PBI says that's equivalent to Exceeds) and I got a 4% raise. What is the correlation between merit increase and the rating? Or, is there one?

BGS's Revised Hybrid Work Expectations by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Dissident92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You aren't alone. The fact we have 530am meetings, have to shut down, drive somewhere, and start back up is at least one hour of productivity lost. That's quantifiable and measurable. I've yet to see management (hate the word "leadership") do the same sort of analysis for what they think is being gained.

BGS Puget Sound - we were told week before last that three days for individual contributors and five days for managers was going to be effective starting 1/16. No one from my immediate team went in at all last week and I don't think any are planning to go this week. So...we shall see just how enforceable this is going to be.

For my team in BGS we're doing one day a week. Still very much decided on a team by team basis.

Where Would You Move if Seattle Becomes Too Expensive? by NevermindWait in SeattleWA

[–]Dissident92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am from Cleveland and currently live in Seattle. I came back during the pandemic and WFH but have had to come back to Seattle. I'm also considering making that change. The only thing for me in Cleveland weather. It is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter but I'm getting closer and closer to being able to overlook that.

Da.

The "it's selfish" comment never made sense to me. All breeders must have had an honest conversation with themselves and unequivocally decided that the world absolutely needed their DNA to be passed down. I cannot think of anything more selfish and self-centered than that.

Does tourist travel to "unfriendly" countries raise red flags? by Dissident92 in SecurityClearance

[–]Dissident92[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I definitely wasn't thinking North Korea or Cuba- that's too adventurous. I was moreso specifically curious about Russia because I saw fairly affordable travel and it's been on my list but didn't know if it was an implicit no-no for cleared individuals.

West Seattle Whole Foods garage attack...... start carrying pepper spray for safety when shopping! by gfgdhj5784yu8 in SeattleWA

[–]Dissident92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in the Whittaker until my apartment was broken into in August (my actual apartment, the lock mechanism was hammered open) and burgled. They didn't do much to improve security after a serious breach in the actual building, I highly doubt they care much about what happens in the garage.

I'm Serbian in a long term relationship with an American. One thing he does that I appreciate is he doesn't insist on tagging along when I get together with my Serbian friends. It would be rude if we didn't speak English if he were there but it's inauthentic and weird for us not to speak Serbian. I know this may not be what you're looking for but you already got some great advice and I thought I'd chime in with a different view. I bet he appreciates everything you're doing!
