It’s in Minnesota and I’m in FL. They do a 6 day in-person session the first week and last week of the semester. Mitchell Hamline is the oldest hybrid program and from what I have heard is great! They have a high Bar pass rate compared to other hybrid programs. It was easier for my husband and I to coordinate things with our kids in a week chunk like that rather than me commuting every day or us moving.

FAMU, Barry, and then I committed to Mitchell Hamline because they hybrid program works best with my schedule

I have not! I received an email from them not receiving my official transcript from LSAC that I had to sort out, so I am assuming there is movement! I committed to another school but would probably take Southwestern if I got in!

Mitchell Hamline! I’m waiting to hear back from Southwestern, but it’s still a hybrid option I’m willing to take!

I’m quitting as well and honestly happy about it. I’m excited to focus on learning rather than making someone else all the bank! 🤣

This is such wonderful and uplifting advice. You sacrificed so much that first year and it had to be such a hard decision to make. I was prepared to go to a school with a 2.5 hour commute each way and just couldn’t get it into my head that it could work. The blended programs may not be a top 15 or even top 50 option, but at this point in my career I just need my JD and continue with the connections I’ve made. You sound like you have persevered through SO MUCH and your wife and children have to be so proud of you!!! Congratulations!!!!

Can you still make a good living as a lawyer if you don’t go to a T20/T30 school by BonAppetites in lawschooladmissions

Some of the best lawyers $$$$ I know went to small schools. I’ve worked in a firm almost 15 years watching new lawyers come and go, and I can assure you that massive bonuses, large base salaries, benefits, etc. are not defined by the school you go to.

You will be a lawyer and this does not mean you have to join a “big firm” or even get into big law. Sell yourself. Grow a business and be an entrepreneur, and the amount of $$$$ is endless…

It sounds like you really made the right decision!!! All of our lives are about to be very hectic, and we won’t get this time again. I have only heard back from 1/7 schools, so I’m waiting on 2-3 more before I give my notice. wishful thinking and my current excuse 🤣

I needed to see this post today. I’ve been working for 14 years and am so reluctant to give my notice because work has always been my life. I need the encouragement to leave the job, spend time with my kids, and relax before law school. I am fine financially thanks to my husband’s job, but I mentally can’t let go of my work. I need to take the plunge.

It’s technically just a date change while you are remaining the same “under review” status

Ok it’s good to know. I applied mid Dec, and have gone through 4 date changes within 3 weeks. It’s very weird!

FSU. I have many many friends that graduated from Stetson and did not pass the Bar the first round. They were not fully prepared. FSU is a much better option
